The flat white here is amazing, really good quality coffee beans and I love that they’re a local business.
Depending on the barista, sometimes the flat white isn’t done right but when I get the right barista here - it is pure gold.
Taking off a star for ‘food’ (aka coffee) just because it depends on the barista I get

I have been drinking kaladi brothers since they opened in the late eighties. I.
Go to the same location three days a week and I order the same thing each time. Kaladi latte 12 oz 1/2 syrup. Each time.
It tastes different. No consistency. I picked up one yesterday and the coffee taste burnt. Some days they put the full shot of syrup and even though I said half shot. The one I bought wednesday, had to be heated in the microwave. For the cost of coffee now, they need to step it up.

I stopped in for some coffee beans and was very impressed with the range of coffee roasts. Their coffee and espresso menu is great, I was excited to have a proper cappuccino that was well balanced with espresso to milk ratios and a great roast to match. Definitely a must for Alaska brew!
I went to this coffee shop based on the reputation of the Kaladi Brothers coffee shops and it did not disappoint. Here is the summary of my experience there:
1) Ambiance 5/5: The place has a great hipster vibe with colorful flags. You can spend time on your laptop while sipping coffee here. There is seating outside as well.
2) Service 5/5: The service was good and quick. They even changed our drink when they realized they made a mistake. The day we were there, however, their card machine was not working.
3) : The food taste was a mixed bag.
a) Kaladi coffee (mix of chocolate, coffee, and vanilla): This is a must and the reason it is a must-visit. The coffee was amazing and was our go-to throughout our journey in Alaska.
b) Banana pecan bread: This was disappointing and I felt our homemade bread was better than this. It tasted soggy and half-cooked.
c) Blueberry Lemon Scone: This was tasty and flavorful
4) Value for Money 5/5: The place is not costly and given the great taste of the Kaladi mix, this is a must-visit
Summary: This place is definitely worth a visit and a must order is the Kaladi Mix cold coffee
The Good:
1) Kaladi mix coffee
2) The vibe
3) Service and Price
Not so good:
1) Banana bread

Both times I've visited got the same guy. Rude both times and got my drinks wrong on the last visit. I clearly asked for two mochas. Instead he proceeds to make two macchiatos.I love kaladi but not coming to this one again. The young man Clearly had something wrong with me. I was kind as always so I can an accurate review.Just a side note about the first visit that made me feel uncomfortable.I visit after work clean but wearing my hi viz jacket. (Work at the airport) and I come in this guy and a young lady both do a double take of me as I walk up to the counter. And had a look of disgust, the looked at each twice and she made him take my order, which was odd. Then I order a drink for my wife mocha with raspberry and whip. And me a plain mocha. The guy makes them and yells with such a sassy way of saying the drink. Like it felt so degrading to walk up and grab that drink. It was quite enough to not yell and two it's a drink so what if my wife or I would want raspberry flavor. I was 3 feet away from him when he called it out. There was no need to yell it out. It sucks that I tipped 5$ on a 12$ bill and a 3$ time this last time for two wrong drinks. (Still going to drink it cuz a macchiato is still good)Thank you for reading.

So, at some point my guess is USA businesses will have to return to their employees, 7 letter dirty word “Service.”I’m standing in Kaladi’s 8am, a Tuesday, March 2024 in Brayton, 10 patrons standing around the waiting for coffee. The cashier is a pleasant individual, and helpful. Because I wanted a Bold aka Dark Roast drip. She introduced me to Red Goat, with an add shot, all is good. Yes, to the roasters/owners, it tasted satisfying!I noticed everyone was standing around waiting for coffee, most of whom, to go. Fine.A perfect world, or common sense, perhaps not so common, But what if, just what if, they took the coffee and walked around out of the area which separates Them from Us, giving, and or more importantly searching in the shop for the coffees new owner then, placing it in the owners hand, … wait for it…with a Smile, emphasis on Smile.Roll that feeling we’d have, around your proverbial mouth a moment.Let us pause for the ancient feeling of gratitude, and importance, brought on by Real Customer Service..….?Nordstroms, one of the former kings of Customer Service, walked around the counter, placing your hard earned and bought, items, carefully into your hand! Why? Welp, Personally I’d prefer to sit down and start my work, read my paper vs ambling up to the counter every 5 mins. Depicting the business needs are above customer needs.‘Tell me that’s not true, I’m sorry for you, as you cannot. It’s funny. At Starbucks in Dimond blvd. Alaska also, yesterday early morning. There was no Bold aka Dark Roast Drip. The cashier mildly yet still begrudgingly said, “ I can do a pour over” then gleefully adding “ It will take 10-15 minutes “ as if to say, make us work, and you’ll pay!You know this is true, owners, and we see it, we feel it, slowly pushing us out to another business or even out coffee pots or home French presses…. The clock is ticking, on your bottom line there….I replied, do they not make Bold till 10 am anymore, here?. “I can do a pour over or americano.” It was odd I never did get an answer to the original question, then about that time The stores typical big guy , a little smaller than I, In the back walked by to make his presence momentarily known, behind the cashier. He must have realized I was ok trying to get an answer to the question, then he faded back into gray. Later he gave the pour over to me, seemed a cool guy.A.)Pour over take customers precious time. Hence Kaladi Brothers today. B.) Americanos taste like watered down coffee. C.) Pikes/Blonde place about the same, yuck.So I hope this helps business get back to the business of customer service?
