Yak & Yeti Cafe Reviews
Our friend who former city resident recommended this place. I found the food fair. The pork much better than the chicken. No beer.
This is my safe choice go-to restaurant for a relatively fast service, warm and nutritious food. I love their green dal soup and their house salad (the dressing is my favorite dressing of all dressings). They have a wide selection of desserts for people with a sweet tooth. I love the consistency of the place. Every time I go, the green dal and the salad taste the same, and my neurodivergent stomach is very grateful for that.
I don't have a favorite other than anything on the menu. The food is delicious and truly a shining star of Anchorage. A 100% must go if you visit. The morereo is Devine but the mouse.... It's a spiritual awakening in a cup. Their egg salad is to die for. Literally no way to choose wrong here. I've had everything on the menu and I'd say being biased the Palak Paneer is probably the absolute best thing they make but that's hard to say it's all so good.

Yak & Yeti Cafe in Anchorage is a charming spot known for its delicious Nepalese food, friendly staff, and relaxed atmosphere. The menu features high-quality ingredients with a good selection for both meat lovers and vegetarians. Regulars enjoy the nice spices and vegetarian options like Chana masala and veggie dal. The green daal soup is also a favorite, and the egg salad sandwich receives praise. Customers appreciate that the portions are generous, especially the chicken in the chicken tikka masala rice bowl, which comes with plenty of sauce. The staff is friendly and not pushy, making it a comfortable place to wait for friends or enjoy a quick meal. In addition to the main dishes, the cafe offers soups like Potato Leek and vegetarian options, with baked items expected to be tried in the future. Recently, many visitors have raved about the homemade ice creams, calling them the best they've ever had. Prices are affordable, and all the food is highly praised for its flavor and quality. The owner and staff support the community, often sharing information about local scholarships and opportunities, and making efforts to connect with customers. The atmosphere is laid-back, and the food, especially the chicken tikka masala rice bowl and lentil soup, is considered solid and good value. Overall, Yak & Yeti Cafe is a fantastic spot filled with flavor and tender meat, perfect for a winter visit or anytime craving hearty Nepalese cuisine.
