Looks like a local place, not fancy, in a non-descript part of town. Server seemed a little brusque/tired, but when we explained what we were wanting (ie a combination of foods to try), he pointed us to the meat-laden combo plate, and it was spot on. The food isn't fancy, but there was plenty of it, and is excellent value. The meat combo plate (I'm not sure what its real name is) had generous servings of: sliced beef, beef teriyaki strips, fried shrimp, chicken katsu, chicken teriyaki, and something like musubi. Some of the meat was a little tough, or dry, most of it was flavorful, and excellent value anywhere, but esp in Alaska. The macaroni salad was much better than what I've had in HI.

After much debate, we tried the Tongan Special Plate (Kalua pig, turkey tail, beef steamed in spinach, and 2-scoops of white rice) and the saimin. The proprietor sensed our excitement for trying new dishes and she brought us a sample of teriyaki chicken and beef, too. Everything was delicious (especially that pig) and after sharing our visit on social, we heard from friends who grew up in Anchorage that Hula Hands is a fam-favorite! If ever back in Anchorage, we'll be back; in the meantime, highly recommend you visit!

This used to be my to go spot for actual Hawaiian food, but the service is so horrific that I’ll never be back. The portions are half of what they used to be and the price is 40% more. The methed up cashier added a tip that I didn’t authorize and I had to walk over and get my own food from the to go window. Pathetic customer service, and if you want the same food, go to L&L, at least they don’t add their own tips.

Happy to find a Hawaiian food place in Anchorage. I ordered the mini plate combo and believe me if you think the mini won't satisfy you, you are mistaken. They load you up with food. I think my mini could've easily satisfied two people. For my choices I went with chicken and Kahlua pig. They gave me three good sizes of chicken! And a nice helping of the pig. The pig was so damn good. Plus you get the mac salad and rice. Both of which were very good. I also added a Spam musubi to my order. That was very good but I felt like maybe they could cut the rice serving in it by half. The rice just kind of buried the Spam for my tastes, They also stock Hawaiian Sun drinks which I love. I'm guessing everyone is calling in orders or placing them online. I just walked in (with mask on) and ordered. It wasn't a long wait for my food. Staff were very friendly too. Great place.

Everything here is so so so good and fulfills your yen for food from Hawaii - the kahlua pig is delicious, as is the chicken katsu. And the mac salad......yum! The portions are very generous, the staff is welcoming and friendly and will help you navigate the best, most economical way to order.

Hula Hands is something that we crave pretty consistently. I really enjoy the kahlua pig and rice and the portions are extremely generous. The nachos are also to die for, again, GENEROUS portions! We usually get it to go and I eat on it most the night.

Found this restaurant by pure chance and sure glad we did. The food is excellent, the service friendly and the prices decent. The portions are very large. You don't walk out of there hungry.

This is a hidden jewel of Alaska. The food was amazing. We had the pulled pork and chicken. There was four of us and we ordered three meals and still had one full to go container. The service was great too. Can't wait to go back.

We stopped in for lunch one day. They have a variety of choices of Hawaiian food. I don't claim to be an expert in this area but I definitely enjoyed the food. I don't live nearby but if I did I would be a repeat customer.
