My favorite coffee shack, though they are cash only. Best red bull Italian soda in town!

One of the best little coffee stands in anchorage. Very consistent.

I come here almost daily on my way to work. Outstanding friendly staff who start my day off right with a steaming hot coffee and a smile. When my daughter is with me, there is unicorn snot, or if my dog is with me there is always a bone for him.

I've been here a few times and overall I like it. Service is consistently fast and friendly. Prices are below average compared to other coffee shops, but they only accept cash. I was unaware of this policy the first time I came here. I offered to go to an ATM to withdraw cash and come back but the barista told me I could pay for it next time. I made sure I did since it was so nice of her to offer that. The espresso is hit or miss. Some days it's great, others it's not strong enough for my liking. Today I ordered a 16 ounce flavored latte and it was too milky. I could barely taste the espresso, but this certainly isn't the first place I've experienced that. I suppose I should have ordered an extra shot, which I will do next time, especially since the prices are affordable. One of the baristas told me they make their own vanilla syrup and mocha powder, both of which are delicious without being too sugary. I highly recommend the midnight sun syrup, which is a combination of vanilla and honey. Overall a good place for a nice quick coffee if you have some cash on hand.

I've tried the coffee and the chai tea and it's very good. Speedy service. The prices are good too, just remember to bring cash.

I'm on the hunt for the best espresso in town (or at least on my route to work...). I truly believe the only way to judge a place is by their Americano: next to a straight shot alone, it's the purest form of a coffee average folk like myself get. Unfortunately, the Americano from Midnight Sun is not great. Not only do they provide only two shots for a whole 16 ounces (ew, coffee flavored water), the taste of the grind itself is just OFF. It's got a strange burnt-ish, artificial flavor. I couldn't even finish it. The extra star was for the nice barista. It's not her fault the beans are bad! I'm really bummed this wasn't a good cup of joe; it's got a great location (and my hunt would be over!). Alas the search continues...

We recently relocated to the south side of town and after trying several coffee shops, we settled on this one because of the friendly staff and great coffee. Last night we stopped in for 2 lattes and I handed Kerri a credit card. She regretfully informed me that they only take cash which we rarely carry. She went on to say that if we didn't have cash, we could pay the next time we came through. We were stunned at this stunned by her kindness because she didn't know us and trusted us to come back and pay. We managed to piece together enough cash to pay for the lattes. I'll be going back this morning when Kerri starts her shift to leave her a good tip! if you're in the area, the egg nog and pumpkin spice lattes are the best!
