Amazed to find Brisket in Alaska..... everything was really good, it taste fresh, and the portion was plentiful that I had enough for the next day.....I did go back for more sauce (the not so spicy one, and it's because I loved it)!

We are new to the area and really wanted to like it despite the reviews. It was EXTREMELY greasy- like we could have spooned the grease like it was soup. We finished and felt really gross and already had heartburn. Sad to say, we will not be returning.

I really liked the potato salad, non of the food had a weird taste. Idk maybe the corn bread is too sweet bc I was enjoying the coleslaw and then I ate a bite of cornbread which was very flavorful which now the slaw has no flavor. Was nice overall tho. Perhaps whatever makes it flavorful isn't there after a few bites. Really scratching my head over it. As for the brisket itself. Its from a crock pot? Hmm wasn't really expecting it. Was tender and flavorful though. It's not to big of a shop. No clue how it stacks up against Texas BBQ. I was thinking it would be like a nice medium rare brisket... Idk why I didn't BBQ brisket like BBQ sauce + brisket. I mean like I'd imagine it's not possible to the BBQ on the side? The bbq sauce is good at least haha. I wouldn't say like you can really taste the wood and the beef.. I think maybe I'd more expect this brisket on a sandwich haha.

I was pretty disappointed. I’ve had meals from here in the past, both catered and from the shack and they had always been really good! Today however it was like a completely different place. My brisket was dry and near flavorless. The sauce made it better at least. My ribs were better and at least had some flavor and were moist. Both however were look warm. My beans were actually cold, and my slaw looked like it was leftovers from yesterday. Likewise my fries were cold and looked and tasted like they have been reheated from yesterday’s batch, they were overcooked and absolutely terrible! The young lady who served us was nice, but she forgot to include the corn bread in all of our meals. Unfortunately we didn’t check before we left, so there’s not point trying to go back to request it after the fact. I’m actually pretty sad, because I’ve always like this spot, but likely won’t be coming back.

I think the issue is the following:
Firstly, fire the rude lady that 90% of the negative comments are about. There’s zero excuse for her lack of respect for those who spend their money.
Secondly, sell the business to someone with passion for BBQ. This town is in desperate need of a good BBQ joint. Notice I said “Good” not great or exceptional. Just good. That’s all we ask for.
Lastly, please wear gloves. I’ve experienced this on my first and only visit, which I drove off before even taking the food I ordered. Zero tolerance for lack of cleanliness.

Pork Ribs were solid! The Brisket is a good blend for their chilli, but lacks flavor on its own. Brisket need a good Bark/Meat Ratio. The cornbread and potato salad were pretty good. The only thing I'd pass on next time is the Brisket 👍
Nope. $50 sandwich with delivery not close to worth it. Brisket was poorly seasoned and cooked. Both orders of fries were small and mostly burnt ends.

I’m from Texas so right off the bat expectations were pretty low. But it’s kinda hard to make BBQ actually bad if anything Alaska bbq is mediocre. No this was bad. I agree with another review that said it was pretty much devoid of flavor and only had the smoke, making it taste dry, flavorless and burnt. Potato Salad and smoky chili were alright, cornbread was alright… I got the brisket medium rare (they gave it to me well done) and ribs and both were just outright bad and flavorless. Don’t recommend for anyone who’s had authentic BBQ and that’s what you’re craving. If you’ve never had it before and have no reference, perhaps you’d like this place.

Soooooo good. I’d recommend everything except the cornbread. Overall the meat is amazing and so is the sauce. This is one of the few regular place I stop by.
We ordered out for a Sunday family dinner of 8 and was fantastic.
The ribs were cooked to perfection and just the right size for our family.

Zero stars for customer service.... Ordered two trail packs and asked for extra sides. The lady repeated food back but had the choices wrong for meat and sides. Reiterated exactly what we wanted. Repeats it back wrong again. I nicely and calmly said it again. She then starts cussing and saying I must be drunk and continued cussing as she handed the food over. I never once raised my voice and when she began cussing I stayed quiet, handed my card and just got out of there. I will never be going back. There bbq is terrible but it's the only option in this town. I will just make it my self.
