Honestly it was a very disappointing experience. The rice tasted as if it was a box with mix, clearly can’t make good Mexican rice. We got shrimp tacos and those were the only thing good. Our chips were cold and tasted burnt, but the salsa was good. Terrible service. We didn’t get water for the first few minutes after we got the chips. Then they brought us one water but we had to wait for another glass because they ran out of glasses. And then we ran out of water before we finished our meal. We were not checked on more than once.

Wonderful food with exceptional service. I've been here many times and always felt the service was lacking. Went today and had Shelby as our waitress. She was wonderful, on point , and attentive . Couldn't have asked for more. Thanks Shelby!! We will ask for you by name next time

Great little Mexican restaurant. Portions are nice sized, not massive, but good. I ordered the fajitas and they were tasty. Price is about what you would expect for any average restaurant in Alaska. Chips and salsa were really good! If you go during peak dinner time, you should expect a little bit of a wait for a table.

Jalopenos catered a memorial service at the VFW. They were thorough, self-directed, on-time, and the food was GREAT! People raved, especially about the salsa. Lots of margaritas! Drinks were a little weak but the food made up for it. Free chips and salsa too!
We went on a Friday night and the place was packed. The main dining room area has a nice atmosphere but we were seated in the back by a bar that didn't have as much ambiance or decor. There was an understandably long wait time, it was about an hour before our food came out. The food was good, big portion sizes, but not much flavor. I'd describe it as Tex Mex more than authentic Mexican.

Great friendly staff! One issue was at the table. Everyone wanted to pay the bill. The service was amazing, professional,kind and explained. I tried sneaking the card and she said she already got instructions? no issues with the staff just everyone wanted to pay ? it was split I'm in food service. Card tips hurt servers. As is declared on taxes. Tip cash. Pay by card is good okyay. But tip on card taxes take a percentage of that. When to pay tip by cash it means more and tax won't be deducted. Taxes take part of your tip. Many ppl will not ever see that money

This place was pretty good about a year ago. It has significantly went downhill. I’ve eaten here at about 15 times. The food has progressively gotten worse. If you spend $100 on to-go food or so they still don’t give you chips and salsa to go but if you sit in and order a $8 beer then you get them for free. It’s sort of mind boggling quite honestly. Severs are ok. I won’t be coming back here after this last meal. It’s simply not worth the price tag for the mediocre food and lack of care towards customers. You can also tell it’s went downhill because you will rarely see the parking lot or the restaurant full in the past few months.Very unfortunate because I used to enjoy coming here. I’ll just go to another Mexican restaurant in Eagle River since there are other options. See ya later Jalepenos!

Bre’s huge smile and bubbly demeanor met us at the door as we entered the restaurant. With less than an hour until closing, I thought to expect nothing more than subpar service. Contrarily, her smile and friendliness never left her throughout our experience. We were never left without, and she came to the table regularly and at the appropriate times.
