Firehouse Subs Old Steese

This older gentlemen came in, a vetran. And what made this experience horrible is that this older women, with a tattoo on her neck was being terribly rude to him.

He told me his story while he sat down. He’s been here for 80 years and he 85. Lost his wife last year and loves Fairbanks.

The reason why the women was being rude was because he came in 15 minutes for before closing. I worked in the food industry before and if someone comes in last minute we aren’t supposed to be rude yk?

And she was telling them they were close but they were not (because the guy was taking our order and it was 8:45).

The food is amazing when the regular staff is here but, I don’t like the fact they are being disrespectful to elders who also want to eat. He’s 85!

Thank you for the rest of the staff who were atleast somewhat nice to him.

I went here a month ago, and recently I ordered again so I went to make a review. The food is quite good, offering chips and some tasty sandwiches. I ordered the meatball sub recently and the turkey and cheese one a while back (I think). It comes with a super awesome pickle, which we all know and love some pickles 😎. The sandwhiches were delicious and the meatballs were super tasty. The service is nice, and I was met with energetic responses 😄 The atmosphere is like a firehouse (duh) and made it feel different and unique, perfect for the mundane life of a Fairbanks local. Except when I went months ago, I saw my PE teacher and he yelled at me for not doing the pacer test that day and I had to do extra pushups after lunch 💔

The restaurant was very busy. But the staff were very polite and took time to make every guest welcome even during a rush time. The food arrived fast and was very good. A well run restaurant.

Ordered one medium sandwich and waited 35 minutes to receive my order. The restaurant had only 2 guests in it at the time. If I wanted to wait 35 mins for my food I would have gone to a sit down restaurant. Pretty ridiculous.

This place is hit or miss. Don't come here at lunch. Hella packed. Good service just alil slow at times. Foods ok.

I ordered the Tuna Salad Sub, medium: The tuna salad was tasty with a generous portion of tuna. However, the salad component was disappointing, consisting only of a small amount of iceberg lettuce, lacking other expected salad ingredients. The provolone cheese was good and added to the flavor. The bread roll was nice and fresh (white)
The venue has a nice size and a lively, family-friendly atmosphere.
Cleanliness: The tables (several of them) needed wiping and sanitizing, which detracted from the experience.
Overall Impression: Decent food with some hits (tuna, cheese) and misses (minimal boring salad). Cleanliness could be improved, but the atmosphere is welcoming for families.

Barely had any barbecue sauce on one of the sandwiches none of anything on that same sandwich that we ordered no cucumber, no black olives on it the steak and cheese had barely any banana peppers, no lettuce on it barely any tomato basically, the only thing they got right was no mayonnaise on one of the Smokin stacks yall suck 103.00 in food
