Kid-friendliness: They try to get all ages involved. From talking with them to trying to have them catch a piece of tossed vegetable in their mouth, it isbfun for all ages”

“OK. This might be a little long/different type post from me but I want to give a big plus to a waitress. We were in Fairbanks Alaska at The Pump House. We were taken care of by not just a good, not a great but my all time best server I have ever had. Her name is Jenna. I want to say that she is my all time best and favorite waitress in my 77 years of being. The food and ambiance were also good. But Jenna was fantastic Thank you Jenna”

“Can't comment on the food but Alexandra the bartender absolutely made the last night of our hard earned vacation worth it. It was undoubtedly busy, but she was hustling with CVS receipt long tickets, handling the bar and two restaurants by her self. To the management, you needs a barback. Several tables were upset with service but as far as I could tell it was a staffing issue, not the employees themselves. Thank you for a fine farewell from Alaska!”

“I am very critical when it comes to Pho and this was some of the best I’ve ever had. It’s all about the broth and they have it going on. The broth was very flavorful and aromatic. The spring rolls were delicious and made to order not premade like most places.”

“Great buffet breakfast, plenty of choices. Reindeer sausage is on the menu, really tasty. They seat you. Located inside the Westmark hotel. We had super good service. The waitress(SHOUT OUT) was very informative, a wealth of info. She was glad to see us when said we were from Maryland. She was born in Maryland.”

Both were excellent! Layton our waiter was very attentive. I would definitely come back. Next time I would love to sit on their beautiful deck.”

“I’m addicted to the English muffin sandwich with egg, cheddar, and sausage or ham (best one in town). Pair that with a great latte, and there’s my lunch — nearly every day! I’m a creature of habit, but one of these days I’m going to be adventurous and try a different sandwich, most especially the BALTO. The baristas are very friendly, and the owner is very quick to respond to a small concern and to rectify it. I highly recommend this coffee stop!”

“Zorba's is another Fairbanks classic food vendor. We've known they have great gyros for years, but I saw one of those 'best in all 50 states' stories on MSN recently and Zorba's was rated as having the best gyros in Alaska! We'd agree. The O.G. is delicious and they have a delightful vegetarian eggplant gyro, too. They're fast, friendly and consistently good so give them a try!

Vegetarian options: Try the Eggplant Pesto Delight. You'll be glad you did!”

“Visited one night and it was the only restaurant open in downtown that had moderate pricing and it was packed. Poor waitress had to wait all the tables herself. I went the next day and the food was delicious. I had the fresh spring rolls and drunken noodles. Not spicy at all so if you like heat, you will need to ask them to add more heat.”

“Brewster's for another Win, family visiting from Texas just got off denali train at 8pm went to Brewster with out calling ahead all 8 of us were seated and fed delicious food - they just loved the halibut - Thanks keep up good stuff”

“I wanted to take my Granddaughter to a nice sushi restaurant since in our extended family she and I are the only sushi eaters. I would get sushi rolls and share with her from the grocery store but we had to go into Fairbanks for a dental appointment for her so we had a day of having fun. They open at 11:00 which fit my schedule so I decided to go to Kanpai. I ordered a bento box with sushi to "share." It was amazing. I commercial fish in Ketchikan and I can tell when fish was handled correctly; it was. I had her go to the counter to watch how the food was prepared and she loved it. The chef was gracious and deftly demonstrated the preparation for her. My wife doesn't eat raw fish so she got tempura instead and it was excellent. They also gave our granddaughter special training chop sticks that she got to take home! To top it off, the chef made a koala out of an orange for her dessert! Did she ever feel special. I highly recommend Kanpai for a special meal. The bubble wall kept her mesmerized and the playing grand piano added to the fine atmosphere. All the staff were exceptional.”

“We went to The Pumphouse for dinner and the place was empty. She said they have reservations until 8:30. Obviously for tour busses. We decided to go to the Alehouse. Great decision. The food was good, service was fantastic and we weren't turned away. Skip the pump house and go here!”
