“THE local hangout in Fairbanks; the cool place local Alaskans want to be for after work beer or to show off to visiting friends and family; the kind of “chill” place that is cool with the younger crowd but comfortable for the older crowd.
Variety of food trucks visit to get your grub on and the beer is first rate.
I don’t know if it would add or detract from HooDoos to have a full pub/tavern kitchen and paved parking lot, so I also don’t know if that’s what is missing…or perhaps it’s just right!“

“Absolutely delicious! We were looking for a cozy breakfast spot with great coffee and came upon this lovely cafe. Homemade chipotle is great, donuts were fresh and so unique- not too sugary either. Burritos were solid! Definitely will be back next time im in Fairbanks“

“This was a stop on our trip to the arctic. I am not going to be negative on a review for a restaurant like this one. There are many folks thankful that it is there. It has a lot to offer from a meal to gas and maybe a souvenir. Truckers appreciate the location and a chance for a break from the road.“

“Really enjoyed sitting near the bubble wall and listening to the piano sound. It was a nice vibe inside matched with great service and kind staff.
The food was amazing. We had monkey brain fried avocado with crab, a long time favorite and definitely had to try their version. We were pleased. The rolls are hearty and delicious, a good balance of flavors, textures and quantities. We ordered the appetizer, two rolls and katsu and were stuffed. The plates could have filled the table! You get a great quantity and quality for the price point. We will be back, for the service and the delicious food. :)“

“Visited one night and it was the only restaurant open in downtown that had moderate pricing and it was packed. Poor waitress had to wait all the tables herself. I went the next day and the food was delicious. I had the fresh spring rolls and drunken noodles. Not spicy at all so if you like heat, you will need to ask them to add more heat.“

“Always good quality pizza. Service is very dependent on who happens to be working but usually adequate. Fast preparation every time. The price is fair. The only negative comment I have is that they need to stop advertising products in the store that they do not even offer.“

“10-15-24: I can no longer list this as one of the top 5 biscuits and gravy places in Fairbanks area. Today's meal was not pleasant. Gravy was good but biscuits were not biscuits, but a cornbread style that was very dry. I was very disappointed.

“We ordered the coconut salmon for an appetizer, which was crunchy and delicious! I ordered the lighthouse roll and my son ordered the bento box B. They completely forgot about my roll until they came to check on us and ask how things were tasting, but when it did come out, it was fresh and good! I thought the little makeshift lighthouse on the plate was adorable. The bento box was good as well, however, the chicken was a little overcooked. Staff were friendly, and they gave out candy with the receipt.“

“Just googled for Indian restaurant and was delighted to see this one in Alaska. It’s a quiet, neat cozy restaurant. Ordered vegetarian thalis. The food was so authentic and tasty. Would strongly recommend this place to anyone.“

I had the Bison meet loaf and it was fantastic others had the fish and chips all were delicious. Just remember you’re in Fairbanks Alaska so things are pricy but it’s worth it.“

“Food poisoned at the Boniface Taco King March 10th, 2025. I think the open sauces haven't been changed in a while, or the shrimp was bad in my burrito. I threw up multiple times throughout the night into the next morning. Laid in bed all day March 11th I haven't eaten in 24hrs. It's now March 12th, and I'm still on fluids only. This is the first time this has happened to me at one of your locations. I've eaten at other Taco King's and your food is really good, but this past experience was horrible.“

“I wanted to support local businesses while I was in the area so this seemed to fit the bill. And boy was I glad I stopped in! The Cuban roll is incredible, the beer selection is delicious, and the staff are so friendly. Very cool vibe, and I hope I get a chance to make it back here before I go home to Indiana.“

“OK. This might be a little long/different type post from me but I want to give a big plus to a waitress. We were in Fairbanks Alaska at The Pump House. We were taken care of by not just a good, not a great but my all time best server I have ever had. Her name is Jenna. I want to say that she is my all time best and favorite waitress in my 77 years of being. The food and ambiance were also good. But Jenna was fantastic Thank you Jenna“

“We had a large work gathering here and the Blue Flame was a wonderful venue. They opened early for us so we could set up, the food was great, and the service was excellent. They were super accommodating; I highly recommend this restaurant if you have a large group.“

“We are tourists from out of town and we really enjoyed the pizza! We placed the order online and picked it up without issue. We got the meat lover pizza, and it was loaded up nicely and the meats were crispy and tasty. We got a cookie too, and that was a little underwhelming but it wasn't a huge deal. Overall we recommend this place!“

Every dish was a delightful surprise, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a special night out. I can’t recommend Jazz Bistro enough — a true gem in Fairbanks.“
