“Ursa Major Distillery is a small, but mighty gem! The distillery tour was fantastic, and the atmosphere and friendliness were phenomenal. Meeting Rob, the owner, and hearing his starting story while tasting his wonderful creations was a highlight. Their spirits pack a real punch, but the biggest draw for us was the incredible Scandinavian Akavit. Highly recommend this spot for a personalized experience, unique spirits, and an all-around warm welcome!“

My one additional complaint for knocking off a star would be that I purchased two $15 gift cards and the gift cards I got were definitely not new. They’re scratched up and have been reused multiple times and I didn’t get to pick which card patterns I wanted. The patterns I was given work fine, but it would’ve been nice to get a shiny new card with my pattern of choice, instead I got some that are covered in scratches and designed more for Valentine’s Day and a birthday rather than Christmas or generic brand cards. I don’t think I’ve ever purchased a gift card that has already been used before, so it feels pretty tacky gifting them to someone else when it looks like I pulled some old crap out of my wallet to regift like a lazy jerk. I got what I needed, it was just disappointing to be honest.“

“Chinook Hotdogs is hands down one of the best food trucks in Fairbanks. The dogs are gourmet-style, loaded with creative toppings, and always cooked to perfection—my favorites are the Borealis and the Break-Up. Prices are a little higher than your average dog, but totally worth it for the quality and flavor. The owners are incredibly friendly and make the experience even better. If you see this truck, stop—you won’t regret it.”“

“Good variety of beer, cider, sour beer, and even barleywine. The is the only place in Fairbanks to get a good sour. They frequently cycle new things in, so there's always something new to try. The food trucks are good too grab a bite to eat at. There's a nice outside area, and they're one of the few places left that let you bring your dog to sit outside. They even offer water bowls. We like to come here for lunch after a hike. It's usually quiet enough to bring a book to read too.“

“I love coming here both on and off work. It’s drastically improved since I first started coming (back in 2009) and the people are pretty exceptional. If I could just critique one thing when taking orders, read them back to the customers ordering them so the people behind the counter have it right. It’s extremely helpful and that way they know they’re getting the right orders. That’s all! Everything else is WONDERFUL!“

“Visited one night and it was the only restaurant open in downtown that had moderate pricing and it was packed. Poor waitress had to wait all the tables herself. I went the next day and the food was delicious. I had the fresh spring rolls and drunken noodles. Not spicy at all so if you like heat, you will need to ask them to add more heat.“
