Great local place for good food and gas

Jasmine Clark

Went up yesterday and the food was delicious. I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy and got a slice of Pie. All of the food was amazing. But the two ladies working yesterday were rude. The lady working the cash register I think her name was Wanda was rude to customers and I could hear her making disparaging comments to the two boys in the kitchen cooking. The other lady in the kitchen, I dont know her name , but she was snapping at the 2 cooks in the kitchen, which I would think make the job more stressful. Those two boys don’t deserve that. They both looked unhappy and stressed out. But they didn’t say anything. My Kudos to the two boys in the kitchen for keeping their heads up and cool calm and collected. And I want to thank the two boys for their amazing food. To the two ladies working yesterday, be nice to your cooks please. They work hard and don’t deserve to be in a toxic environment like that.

We stopped here on our tour to the Arctic Circle. Warm bathrooms available and snacks and food. I should have gotten a piece of pie!

10-15-24: I can no longer list this as one of the top 5 biscuits and gravy places in Fairbanks area. Today's meal was not pleasant. Gravy was good but biscuits were not biscuits, but a cornbread style that was very dry. I was very disappointed.

Best biscuits and gravy in Fairbanks! Great food and great service!

Hilltop has a great selection of pies. Dutch apple, Butterfinger, Coconut Creme, Strawberry Rhubarb. Haven't met a slice that didn't satisfy. There is a reason why you see the "I brake for pie" bumperstickers. Very friendly service to boot.

Hilltop was our last fuel and restroom stop leaving Fairbanks on the way to the Arctic Circle. We were told they have the best pie so I had to try a slice. There were so many flavors to choose from but I ultimately chose the peanut butter silk. It was really incredible and I wish I would’ve grabbed another one to go. It may look a rustic stop from the outside but don’t pass up the opportunity to get yourself a slice of pie.

It's a truck stop, with really good pie.
It's close to the best I've ever had, and it's the best pie you're going to get anywhere near here.
