extremely $$$$ expensive and no prudhoe anymore???
Didnt see so many flavors this year.
I’ve been to hot licks for my first time visiting family in Alaska in 2019. Then I moved here in 2024 and went every other time they were open in the summer. I love how fresh and homemade the ice cream is and I also love the drink shakes they make.
Swirl ice cream was watery. Long wait for just ok ice cream.
We saw that they close at 10pm. Arrived at 8:05. They had arbitrarily closed at 8pm. Asked why; they didn’t know. Seemed adequately staffed.
Really good. It was a wait but lots of outdoor seating. Very pricey so definitely a once in awhile treat.
I haven’t been back in over 13 years. Came back to the best . Great ice cream!
This used to be one of my favorite summer spots and wed wait all winter for it to open. No idea what has happened this year. The flavor list is a third of what it used to be and rarely has the good flavors anymore. Before this year Id never showed up and not been enticed by multiple flavors, now there have been times ive turned around and left because the flavor board was so disappointing.
Nice local ice cream place with rotating homemade ice cream flavors.
They always have great selections of ice creams.

Lots of flavours to choose from. One of the best milkshakes I've ever had. A bit expensive but totally worth for the quality and quantity.
We were in the area and looking for some unique good ice cream. Saw this place and decided to give it a try. I ordered the Aurora sundae, my husband ordered the gingersnap ice cream and then we tried a small blueberry. The aurora sundae was good, just vanilla ice cream though. The gingersnap ice cream was okay it did not have much ginger flavor and would be better if it had pieces of candied ginger. The blueberry was good. It had a weird texture like it may have a different base than the other flavors we tried.
Ak blue is the absolute best!
First ice cream shop I've ever been to where you order and then wait for 35 minutes for a scoop of ice cream ! We wait in line to order and when we get to the window we find out that they only offer 5 or 6 very generic flavors so I ask for chocolate, which they proceed to tell me they ran out of. We wait off to the side and wait for them to call our number. We would only hear a number called every 5 minutes or so. Close to 40 minutes after ordering, my daughter checked on the ice cream and was handed melted ice cream and was told it was our fault because we didn't come to the window when our number was called. I stepped in and asked how they could possibly hand out melted ice cream and be rude about it. One of the girls admitted that she never told us where to stand while we waited for the order. Plus the ice cream was NOT good and it was very overpriced !! Worst experience ever !! Don't go there !!! Learn to hand out a scoop right when the customer orders like every other ice cream shop in the world !!!
While the ice cream was delicious, I would beware of the drinks. One member from our group purchased a Shirley Temple, which tasted like pure syrup. When we asked to remake it, they refused. She simply asked to dump some of it out and refill with sprite or what not, but was declined. 5 scoops of cherry syrup is simply too much, and the service was a disappointment.
