My friend and I were visiting Fairbanks for vacation and were craving Korean soup on our last day. Found this place on Yelp and it did not disappoint. I had the spicy beef soup ($25.95) and it came with a side of rice and some kimchi. The portion was huge and the soup was the perfect level of spicy. The ladies working there were really nice and quick to answer any questions. There's also a bell at the counter if you need them while they're in the back.Really enjoyed the food and service here, definitely would return if I'm back in downtown Fairbanks.

I'm from So Cal so i eat a lot of Korean food at LA Korea town and little Seoul in OC so I know my Korean food. This place is legit! It's like having a Korean grandma cook for u. It's not fancy but it's good hearty food made with soul and flavor. We ordered like 7 dishes. Everything was very tasty and well done. After a week of cruise food the grandparents in my group was loving having rice and great Asian flavors again. Trust me it's good Korean food esp in Alaska. Highly recommend.

Decent place owned by local Korean female, we should all support this kind of mom and pop's diner, dishes are freshly cooked, I had galbi ribs, seafood pajeon and bulgogi, everything was super delicious ?

Worst experience ever! No service, no side dish, not even communication. Way too expensive for not a korean recipe!!!!! How they can call it’s korean recipe! You better cook ar your home than them for sure!

i stayed at bridgewater hotel near this restaurant. when i came here, the temperature is just about -30 celcius. so its freezing cold. me and my wife want to give it a try because korean food is mostly hot soup, which is perfect for this freezing cold weather. i ordered dumpling soup and its really really delicious. i love this simple restaurant..

Great Korean food! Loved the bulgogi beef. Only complaint is that the "spicy" beef bowl was not very spicy. Seems to be a reoccurring theme around Alaska that folks here are scared of spicing it up. Probably too many whiny customers that complained about things being too hot for them. But anyways, other than that, delicious!

Overall, AVOID this place. I’ll start with what I like about this place. Bulgogi is tasty and authentic. That’s why I rate 2 stars but I cannot give more stars than this. We ordered the pot clay soup made with seafood and tofu(forgot the name). The taste is fine(well the soup paste is standard from grocery store just like instant noodle soup, you cannot go too wrong),but the seafood quality is terrible. There was only 3 clams (all not fresh, even one stinky) and 1 frozen shrimp in it, and it is $23. Way overpriced for the quality and quantity. Avoid this dish and see my attached picture. For what’s worthy, I am a traveler to Fairbanks for sightseeing, so despite I was terribly disappointed with the seafood quality, I thought the grocery must be pricy too in Fairbanks especially in winter, perhaps that’s the reason why the owner had to use bad ingredients to control the cost. But when I visited the local supermarket, I found out (surprisingly)the grocery is fresh and reasonable price, so clearly this shop owner lady cheaps out the ingredients for milking more profit, which makes me really upset. I understand the restaurant business may get struck so badly during covid and it needs to gain profit immediately, but this is NOT acceptable. I usually don’t give this harsh comments because I love and enjoy cooking, and have a reasonable understanding of different people have different mentality and difficulties in life. But this is NOT how to run a restaurant business, so I feel I have to do this to alert travelers, AVOID THIS PLACE.I also cannot believe the service we had. Okay, I am Asian foodie and know what a good Korean meal should be. I was not expecting this to a Chicago/NYC level Korean food experience, but I’ve never been to a Korean place that doesn’t serve complimentary side dishes before hot dishes. There was no barley tea or even hot water or water. The only water I got was a 2 dollar bottle water that I had to pick up myself from the registry.I also don’t understand why people commented the owner lady was friendly. Maybe to others but this was not our experience. Despite I was already disappointed, I still tipped 15% out of a common sense. But the whole time during dining and check out, there was never a smile from the owner lady. There was no service other than bringing our food out once.I can keep going but I think I’ve made my point. I could’ve rated 1 star but I decided to go with 2, everyone is not easy so one more star for keeping it running, but unfortunately I cannot rate higher than 2 stars.

I randomly decided to check out this restaurant. I am so glad I did. If you are looking for an authentic Korean food restaurant with exceptional customer service, this place is for you. I order the jab chae. It was really delicious! The prices are a little high, but that seems to be everywhere now. The portions were good size too. I could have shared with my spouse but I would much rather have leftovers. This is my new favorite restaurant in town!

Best Korean food in town 10/10! I have been craving Korean food lately and attempted to get take out at another place but since they were closed, I went to Korean Recipes for the first time. When I walked in I was greeted by a lady with the warmest smile and although they were about to close she was so sweet and let me know she'd stay open to make my order. Extremely kind and her service was 10/10! I ordered the kalbi, cucumber kimchi, and tofu soup to go. All I can say is that it was all DELICIOUS! I have been missing out big time on the best Korean food in Fairbanks. I will be returning many more times!!! Thank you for bringing authentic and homemade style Korean food to the area!

Incredible! Esther is wonderful and just listens when you just want a lot of vegetables…plus that pantry with kimchi and other homemade goodies! 5 stars

Pretty decent Korean food. The homemade kimchi is highly recommended. It is sweet, crunchy and fresh. The blueberry smoothie is also very good. It is made with fresh local blueberries. The banana is mixed to balance the flavor.

Ok. Ordered the Kimchi stew. Good broth. Filled with some mediocre kimchi, tough fatty meat and some tofu. Definitely not worth $18.99. No little bowls of fresh kimchis were offered like so many nice Korean places do. Dissapointing!
