We decided to eat here tonight. Our waitress was completely ridiculous. She wouldn't speak in a tone that was audible against the back ground noise. She was impatient with our child as she was trying to order for herself. We didn't know the entire drink order upon being seated so she decided that half our party only needed water. She was short in temperament when approached about our drink order, which she then left on the bar for over 5 minutes, walking past multiple times. I tried to order my regular order, which is 3 enchiladas, with shredded beef. I was informed this is not possible as they only come with ground beef. We informed her we wouldn't be dining here, and she decided to stop waiting on us. Waited excessively to bring what we managed to order and our check.
This place has gone down hill significantly within the last year.

Cute place and quick to serve. Staff are not very friendly and tend to hover. The look you get when you don't order a drink from the bar is priceless. By the way, I am a recovering alcoholic so save your eye roll and facial expressions for someone else.

The plate was hotter than the food. The food is way under seasoned and has a lot of room for improvement.

I feel that if you order something from the bar, you will have a better experience than we did.

Parking: Typical plaza parking.

My margarita was so bland, it tasted like water. The service was pitiful. Took forever to get a menu. I kind of felt like I was being ignored. I asked for another dish of salsa, but it took so long, I finally ate the chips without it. Then... then they brought out the salsa. The food was good and it was hot. But that's only because the lady from Taco Azteca brought it out. I'm sure it would have been cold, had I waited for my waitress to get it.
I won't come back here for dinner. I'll save some cash ($41 for one person with one drink) and just eat at Taco Azteca next time.

Wheelchair accessibility: They do have an area where you have to be able to climb steps, but if you don't mind eating in the bar area, there are tables.

Iced tea tastes strange. Food wasn't great and service was slow. They couldn't fulfill my first order because they were out of poblano pepper. The burrito was just a big blob and the sauce that came on it tasted like sauce from a can of pork and beans. No music and the salsa was more like unsweetened ketchup. The roasted salsa was good, but not worth coming back for.

Love this place for the shrimp cocktail smothered in pico. Combo that with some carne asada tacos and your eating like a king!

This was only my second time going to Mayan Place, and it was obvious why it's not a place I go back to every time. Service was okay but nothing spectacular. The free chips and salsa was not bad at all, and we really liked the smoky flavor of one of the salsas. I ordered the fish tacos which was supposed to be made with cod, but it was made with tilapia! I could tell because I've had both many times and each has a distinct flavor. There is no mistaking the pungent taste of tilapia (not in a good way IMO). I mentioned it to the waitress and she didn't even deny it. The only good thing about Mayan Palace was that they were quick with refilling your soda so that something, I guess.

Best Mexican food in Fbks, just don't buy the Ceviche. 15.00 for a 8 Oz serving, really felt like robbed.

It’s similar to most Mexican restaurants. Good food. Fast service. Decent prices. We really enjoyed our meal. The waitress helped me pick between my top 3 choices and I was not disappointed. Would definitely eat there again.

Save your money. This place is not good. The chips and salsa were pitiful and sad. They were out of rice. We ordered the fajitas and they drowned them in minced garlic. Just gross overall. I know it’s Fairbanks and there are days when you just really want Mexican food but save your money, go to the grocery store and buy everything you need for queso and tacos because I promise you it will be better and you won’t feel twice as bad because you 1. ate bad Mexican food and 2. overpaid for that bad Mexican food.
