The food was excellent. We had hamburger, chili, salmon burger, and barbecue sandwich. Everyone said their food was great. Chili was spicy and delicious french fries were also good. It does take a long time to order, but the food was then out on our table after a very short wait.

The salmon blt was fresh and served with a smear of garlic aoli. Delish!!! And our server Mary was the sweetest! She helped us with the menu and her recommendations were spot on. She even showed us some spectacular auroa pics. Eat here if you have a wait for a flight.

Useless server, Sheri was awful. Ignored, walked past several times and avoided her area on purpose. Neglected several new tables to hang with men at the bar. Waited 25 mins to be finally attended to by the server who was already off shift, trying to leave.

Was waiting for my flight on 11 Jul around 9pm. Ordered 1 beer from the bar tender that said she lives in Miami (taller blonde woman) and comes there to work the summer. Paid for the beer and gave a 20% tip. When the transaction hit my account, the ~$12 bill turned into $40+. Keep your receipt until your bill is posted, someone at the bar is stealing money from customers. Be safe and pay with cash

I don’t understand why a place called “The Local” can’t figure out a way to have at least ONE local beer on tap. There are 5 breweries in Fairbanks! Other than that it’s a pretty good place.

Coffee. Prices are actually on the low side considering it's in an airport, and they actually make their drinks with the correct amount of espresso for their size (which has been becoming a painfully common trend among coffee shops)

Seat yourself but order at the bar. Pretty clean space, friendly gentleman at the bar attended to us quickly. Breakfast was particularly crummy. Eggs only available in scrambled (fake/powder?), served with greasy tater tots. Party of 2, neither of us finished our food.
The food quality is bad. I ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad and zthe taste was just bad. The chicken wasn't cooked, it was raw. Too much of mayo. Then it was a chowder, it looks like it wasn’t freshly made in the kitchen — it was most likely taken from a package and simply reheated. It lacked any natural flavor. The servant lady was nice, but overall impression here is bad.

These reviews are BS. Being an Alaskan, I understand the restaurant scene around here. Understaffing and poor quality food are the norm. Do not come into this 6 gate airport restaurant expecting a Michelins star restaurant meal. Every-time I come here (which is frequently - 8-10 times a year) my expectations are exceeded. I did not catch his name but the beautiful man working the bar around 3 pm today (June 12th) was on his game today. Ordered a dirty martini and it was absolutely perfect. I fly quite often and up until now have not had a dirty martini made well. This one was absolutely perfect. Props to this guy for being on top of it for everyone seated at the bar and the restaurant. Dude is MOVIN’ and multitasking like a mad man. Much appreciated, keep it up man.

Slow slow slow food service, we waited an hour and thirty minutes for 2 burgers and it wasn’t even that busy. Pathetic. Also my order was incorrect, my burger came on flatbread, no bacon and fries instead of the tots that I ordered. There was also no salt on my fries.

I have eaten here before and things were served and orders taken every time I have been here before. I have flown thru this airport every 6 weeks for over 4 years, and today I sit for 25 minutes and not one person asked if I wanted a drink or food. Finally I get up to leave and stand at the bar to say hey I have been sitting there for 25 minutes and a sign against the wall away from the entrances says see bartender for orders. The whole time I saw them come and ask others if they wanted another drink or how their food was, but ignored me with the menu on the table. One person sat down that was serving had food and a phone call. Why is this the only place to eat in the airport. Pitiful I will not come back here again if I can avoid it.

A horrible experience! There were 8 people in the restaurant and it took over an hour to get our food. We asked for our money back and she said she'd need a manager to do that, no manager. They hurriedly brought it to us. A vending machine would be better. DO NOT DO IT.
