Ever have that first unfavorable experience with a terrible recruiter that sours you to the idea of working for the company you thought you were interested in? That was Shari, our hostess. We nearly left to go elsewhere but I'm glad we didn't.The ambience was lodge-like with a fireplace and full bar. Our server Alan was welcoming and took great care of us. She had the strawberry fields salad and I had the chicken bacon ranch sandwich. Both were tasty. She wanted some bread to go with her salad. Alan brought out a perfect French loaf with three butter blends - one lemon herb and another with cinnamon. We topped off with Alan's recommendation of the caramel apple pie with a scoop of ice cream.

With the reviews, I was concerned about eating here. We received a friendly welcome and was seated in the restaurant area (the bar area was loud). Our server was fantastic (sorry I forget her name)! We started with drinks and ordered dinner. The three piece halibut and chips were very good. We also had the chips and salsa. The salsa had a wonderful taste.

We had a good experience eating here, even though it was a busy time. The service was quick and the food very tasty. We had the strawberry balsamic salad, which was loaded with pecans, bacon, and dried cranberries. Delicious! The blueberry BBQ brisket sandwich was also good.

Limited menu choices and service can be slow at peak times.

Laid back dinner place. We had the grilled cheese with pasta salad side with tomato soup dipper. Best grilled cheese on sourdough with smoked gouda, pesto and other cheeses. Excellent. Strawberry arugula salad with goat cheese and candied pecans was also excellent. Prices were reasonable for Alaska.

Poorly executed, no guidance, only really modest food offerings. Not what you want for 'dinner.' Disappointed

Great location and a beautiful water view. The service is uneven as there are a host of trainees. More troubling is the food quality. The fried chicken dinner had very dry chicken. I ordered the salmon on salad and asked not to overlook the salmon. It was as if I never made the request.

Terrible Experience. Room-Temperature Tacos and a $13 steak that could easily fit in a cup. Steak was not tender, and very slow service.

I got annoyed waiting for service here. At one time the barman completely disappeared and I was just told 'he'll be back soon' The beer was good though.

Our group was part of a cruise tour and came into Fairbanks in the middle of the afternoon. While it was 7 PM at home, it was 3 PM here. We were hungry and there weren't many choices of where to eat. Unfortunately, this little bar and grill was too small to handle the number of tourists who arrived to eat. I suggest they open a larger place to have dinner for those who arrive from different time zones. In any case, we did get our meals, which were very good, though my bun was burned. Cost about $50 for my husband and me, tip included.

Staying next door at Pikes Waterfront Lodge, and decided to give the restaurant and bar next door at the Princess Hotel a go, Trackers Bar and Grill, and was not disappointed .... a happening place, with a nice bar and grill area, but I sat up at the bar and was treated like royalty .... While the food was good, the desserts were over the top, so make sure to get that menu at the end of your meal .... bartenders were terrific !

This was the first restaurant we ate while captive of the Princess Lodge. The seafood chowder was Luke warm and the Mac and Cheese balls overdone. There were 5 of us and I don't think anyone had a good meal. The prices were high for bar food. The servers here were great which is why they get two stars.

After a long day of travel we needed to get something to eat before bed, and Trackers Bar and Grill was the only thing open. I ordered the grilled salmon sandwich with fries and my wife got the 2 piece fried cod with fries. We both thought the food was okay, nothing special. I would try somewhere else next time. Service was good and the restaurant seemed clean.

Had read an earlier review mentioning this waitress and, given the turnover in wait-staff, was not at all expecting that we would encounter her when we had dinner here. Well, our waitress was so incredibly upbeat and helpful that I wanted to get her name right and, yes, it was the same one! She really made our meal very enjoyable and the food was good too! She suggested that we consider sharing one entree and sharing one dessert...perfect for my husband and me, and less expensive overall.
