We discovered this friendly restaurant in Haines during our stay last September. We loved it, we really fell in love with this restaurant. Over the 6 days there, we ate there morning and evening. The bakery is superb, a wide choice of pastries, which are delicious. In the evening the dishes are varied, a wide choice even for vegetarians in which there are (finally) vegetables! A real taste pleasure.
Not to mention the warm welcome from the team, the manager is really adorable.
We will return to Haines, we fell in love with this charming little Alaskan town and we will be delighted to return to eat at the Chilkat restaurant & Bakery.

Their opening hours are not accurate here on maps and you can’t find the correct ones. So not recommended as you may stand for a closed location ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just had the Drunken Noodles (Pad Kae-Mao) and they were the best hands down I’ve ever had. Multiple people came in behind us that had eaten here earlier in the day and had returned for their evening meal. Food is excellent. Service was top notch. So glad we found this little gem while passing thru Haines.

In a town filled with fish and chips, Chilkat offers Thai cuisine for a change!
Their Thai food is amazing.
The lady owner is such a social butterfly and she calls everyone “my dear” and brings smiles to all customers.

Fast, friendly service and amazing food. On par with many excellent Thai restaurants we have eaten at. We tried chicken wings, pad Thai, and pad basil. All quite good, but the fresh blueberry croissant was good enough that I am planning a return tomorrow for more!

Sweet bakery, open early. They know how to make a European style almond croissant, loved it! Very sweet staff also.

There are not many diner options in Haines. We stopped here for a light diner - an order of egg rolls and we shared one soup. Food was tasty but the kitchen was very slow. They could definitely use more help.

Surprised about the rating vs reality. Service outstanding. Food lower average. Nothing I would go again. Super expensive.

First donuts good. Later a meal & rhubarb upside-down cake dessert. Simply wasted money on the cake. Terrible. Sounded & looked better than it tasted.
