An absolute gem of a find. Small privately owned and fantastic food. There were basically 2 menu items to choose from as they make the menu up base on fresh local ingredients. We had a most delicious fried chicken on sticky rice with a slight Asian flair. Everyone eats at long community style tables in one of the historic buildings at Fort Seward.

Visiting Haines, we stopped in for the Sunday brunch, and it was fantastic. Delicious fresh ingredients, gorgeous plating. I savored every bite. Get there early, it gets busy.

Had both Sunday Brunch and Monday Night Dinner. Would go back again and again for the amazing flavors, both sweet and savory. The best Ramen in Alaska, and even better croissants! Wish they were open for lunch!

Small menu, only 3 mains things listed. Changes daily, check their Facebook page. We had the black pepper tofu bowl and was absolutely delicious! Great little patio and beautiful views of the mountains, would definitely recommend this local gem of a restaurant

The best meal I’ve had all year - fresh, unique dishes and a fantastic atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone!

The donburi was incredible, husband had chicken, I had tofu. I can’t express how delicious it was. And it would have been worth the long, long, long, long wait, except the sound level was downright assaultive. Their indoor space is all hard surfaces with no acoustic softening whatsoever. I’m confident it exceeds osha levels. I felt like I had been beaten up by the time we left. Sit outside if you can, or get your food to go. Oh my gosh food was good, but yikes what an awful environment…Vegetarian options: Ramen has pork, but donburi with tofu was outstanding.

Super slow service even with the side of edamame which took 30 mins at a minimum to come out. Ordered the chicken entree which was so dry it was hard to choke down, hard, flavorless, not an ounce of juice left in it. Took about 45 mins for it to come burnt and way over cooked. All three of us that ordered it couldn’t finish it ($18 a plate). Certain that had anyone in the kitchen tried it it wouldn’t have been served (I’ve worked in many low brow restaurants and that would be deemed inedible). Would have given this feedback to any staff but no one came back to the dining room after dropping off our food. Stomach isn’t feeling right now either. Hate leaving negative feedback but, hopefully someone sees this and they figure out what was up.

Healthy, fresh eats. Absolutely love that there are vegetarian and gluten free options. Definitely a must stop when in the area.

Excellent meal here. They have a rotating menu. We had butter chicken and samosa and challah bread. All so good. They haf brio trains for the kids to play with, so we were able to actually sit back and enjoy a beer. Definitely going to be a regular stop.

We got lucky and happened to be in Haines on a Monday evening when Old Field was open. They serve a limited but healthy and delicious menu. The night we were there they had chicken chili verde, 2 kinds of tamales including one vegetarian and a rice and bean platter that could be made vegan. They have wine and beer and sake. The location is beautiful and the clientele seems to be overwhelmingly locals. We would definitely return.

My salmon was cooked to perfection. Hands down the best preparation of fish I’ve had in Alaska. They also kindly provided us with a fish free version of the salmon bowl for the vegetarian in our party. The desert (a shortbread cookie) was full of unexpected flavors and sublime! This was the perfect meal for our last night in Haines.
