As a 50 year resident of Juneau, I am impressed with the current atmosphere, entertainment and overall vibe at the Alaskan. I my opinion it’s the best it’s ever been.
The variety of entertainment is awesome from Salsa dancing, karaoke, drag show and live music!
I’ve visited The Alaskan Hotel & Bar multiple times, often just to enjoy the music, the space, and the atmosphere. On one occasion, a staff member told me I was loitering — apparently because I hadn’t bought a drink every single time I came in. That alone was already a stretch, but when I calmly challenged that reasoning, they changed their explanation and told me they had “hours of footage of me making customers uncomfortable.”
