“Crepes are amazing!!! I ordered a dessert crepe with strawberries which was absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend skipping dessert at the nearby restaurants in order to enjoy one of these delicious crepes .”
“Friendly, welcoming atmosphere, staff was amazing, food was amazing. There’s not a lot of parking right out front, but there is several parking close by in the area for small fee.”
“We did a little brew tour while in Alaska, and Barnaby brewing had a lot of choices for beers. And for ambience it's kind of straightforward, but we did get to meet The Cat”
“Delicious fresh bread, excellent pasta and meat sauce, a glass of white wine, and fast service. I'm Italian so I was nervous to eat here but my fears were unfounded. My highest recommendation!”
“The Service is always great, the food is always Hot and Fresh. The atmosphere is comfortable and you can visit without excess noise The food is served in good portions and It's the ONLY place I like to go now.”
“We're fortunate to have 4 breweries in Juneau and this is one of our favorites. Barnaby is a bit more creative in their beer line-up, but Forbidden Peak has a fantastic large space with great views of Auke Bay, and a solid beer line-up, albeit a bit stagnant / monotone. They have several seltzers for the non-beer-drinkers or gluten-free people in your group, and about 15 beers on tap. They introduce about one new rotating beer once a month or so, but the rest of the lineup feels a bit conventional - they mostly seem to stick to a tight ABV / IBU style range. (Or maybe that's just a winter '23/'24 thing?)If I had the opportunity to chat with the brewmaster I'd love to lobby for a few ideas:Sometimes less is more, you probably don't need 14 beers on tap - a smaller, more diverse line-up is catching on in some places.Any Belgian (tripel, wit, quad, BPA, etc) or farmhouse style (saison) in the regular lineup would be awesome. The occasional sour has been interesting but there are usually no details about the type of sour yeast or style target - they're usually "fruity" beers for some reason. There are 4 different lagers that are all very similar. Props for putting in the extra work lagers require; but I'm not sure having both American lager and German lager is worth it - the American one is just the German one rewritten to be less flavorful (gateway beer?). And the schwarzbier and marzen are just malt variants on the helles. Good beers, but lagers have a lot more potential diversity than that (bock, doplebock, pilsner, kolsch, etc).Thank you for listening and cheers to 2024!”
“This is my go to 1 to 3 times a week. They check all of my boxes for something fast n thw fly to feeding my whole family. Thankfully my entire family has something that is a fave on their menu. The enchilada sauce is my FAVE. I want to bathe in it.”
“Great tasting fish and chips! We went in the afternoon between the cruise crowds so there was zero wait. The fish and fries were cooked fresh and were piping hot! The chips are a bit bite sized so the 8 piece was not quite a meal to share.”
“Big kudos to the Suwanna team today, who worked extra fast to fill my to go order and then - when the fresh rolls stayed behind - made sure I knew and could come back to get them. They even ran out in the hail! to bring them to the car”
“Nice place to visit for some drinks and souvenirs. Most of the beer were great but I would personally stay away from the fruity ciders. They have an outdoor seating out back and some food trucks just on the otherwise of the building.”
“Tried out their Nutella French Toast and it was so good! Ended up finishing it all. I got 4 slices instead of the 6 slices and it was plenty. I also tried the Idaho Potatoes and they were a great accompanying addition to the French toast. Will definitely come back and try out more of their French toast options.”
“Best breakfast burrito ever! Very friendly wait staff quickly prepared a fresh egg and veggie burrito. We are from Southern California where restaurants frequently offer breakfast burritos, so we have tried quit a few. Great small shop. Highly recommended. Located inside the Alaska State Museum building.”
“I tried the Parmesan Truffle wings: 10/10. They were so crispy, juciy, and the flavor was amazing! To top it off the staff was super nice, and food was done quickly.”
“Ordered takeout! The sushi, miso soup, and sesame honey chicken was INCREDIBLE. Great egg rolls. Everything was packaged very well and got home still warm. Our new favorite place!”
“Cute little place with so many fusion food options as well as amazing dessert selections. Staff were great, all my food tasted amazing! Seating is limited during peak hours. Definitely come hungry as portions were large!”
