Deckhand Dave's Fish Tacos

Every year I make it a point to eat here. Judge a place by their food not by irrelevant opinions. 100% recommend if you want the best fish tacos in town at a reasonable price.

I've seen the video of the owner burning trash on the beach. Just a lowlife thing to do. I'll never support this place.

I admit, the food is good. However, the owner has proven to be lacking in morals. For instance, he has been filmed dumping and burning his trash (including styrofoam) on the beach, and walking away from the fire. I will not longer be a customer there and I will no longer be recommending his restaurant to visiting friends and family. I cannot in good conscious recommend a place owned by someone with such disregard for our environment.

Fresh Seafood Heaven at Deckhand Dave's in Juneau, AK

My dining experience at Deckhand Dave's was absolutely phenomenal! After a long day of exploring Juneau, we were craving fresh seafood, and this place delivered beyond expectations. We started with the fresh oysters, and they were everything you could hope for—plump, briny, and incredibly fresh. Each one was like a perfect bite of the ocean, shucked beautifully and served ice-cold.

The halibut cakes were next, and they were out of this world. Crisp on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside, with a perfect mix of spices. You could tell the halibut was fresh, and the cakes were cooked to perfection—each bite was packed with flavor.

But the highlight for me had to be the halibut tacos. They were incredible—grilled to perfection with tender, flaky fish, fresh toppings, and a delicious sauce that tied everything together. These tacos were hands down some of the best I’ve ever had!

Deckhand Dave’s offers more than just amazing seafood—it’s a fun, casual spot with great service and a welcoming vibe. Whether you're a local or just visiting Juneau, this is the spot for unbeatable fresh seafood and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend!

My family and I were on a cruise and our bus driver who took us to our excursion highly recommended this place for their fish and chips. We went for dinner and were not disappointed. we each got a halibut and a rockfish taco, mine being spicy as well as a variety fish and chips to split. It was delicious and fresh and not too heavily breaded and their homemade tartar sauce was delicious as well. Highly recommend
