Great place for food and drinks. You can watch the sea planes come in and out during the cruise ship season.

This is one of the best restaurants in Juneau. It has one of the most versed menus and you really can’t go wrong with any of the choices. My personal favorites are the shrimp angel hair pesto pasta, and the Baja fish tacos. They have a pretty good selection of cocktails and beer as well and you get the great view, especially when there are cruise ships in the bay

Great food, fast and friendly service, super view. It helps to be in the last cruise ship of the season to walk right in and get a table!

I ordered the fried portobello mushroom appetizer and the mushroom was still completely frozen inside the fried casing :( The restaurant was completely empty so they couldn’t have been short on time. Super disappointed as the dish was $14, skip this place.

We stayed in Juneau for a week and ate here every day! We enjoyed the views of the planes landing and taking off. As well as the staff, we had the same waitress every day and she was so welcoming and kind! The food was amazing! We absolutely loved the chowder and kept coming back for that!

Got my Alaskan king Crab leg without the hustle and bustle of the place closer to the ship. Service was attentive and quick.

One day we went when a cruise ship was just leaving and the experience was great. However a different day we came back and it was way overpacked and crowded. The Alaskan crab legs are better than you could even imagine. The best I've ever had.

A recommendation is that the creme brulee should have vanilla bean added

I was a cruise ship visitor, so take that for what you will. But The Hangar was the perfect place for me to get a flight of Alaska beers (gotta get those Untappd check-ins!) and some food. I ordered two appetizers, knowing it'd be way more than I could eat, the smoked salmon dip was especially delicious! Adam was very attentive (but not overly so) and provided all around great service.

A Truly Memorable Dining Experience at the Hanger on the Wharf – A Must-Visit in Juneau!

After a day of exploring the beauty of Juneau, my daughter and I were looking for a great seafood spot, and we found an absolute gem in the Hanger on the Wharf. This place truly lives up to its reputation, offering not just fantastic food but also a warm, welcoming atmosphere that made our dining experience unforgettable.

I ordered the halibut and chips, and let me tell you, it was perfection on a plate! The fish was incredibly fresh, with a light, crispy batter that wasn’t too heavy, allowing the halibut’s delicate flavor to shine through. Each bite was delicious, and the fries were perfectly cooked – crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It’s easily some of the best halibut I’ve had in Alaska.

My daughter opted for the halibut chowder served in a bread bowl, and she couldn't stop raving about it. The chowder was rich, creamy, and packed with fresh halibut chunks. The bread bowl added a fun twist, soaking up all that delicious broth. She’s usually a picky eater, but she finished every last bite!

We couldn’t leave without trying dessert, and we were so glad we did. We shared the apple pie-style dessert, which was the perfect end to an amazing meal. The apples were perfectly spiced, with a warm, buttery crust and a scoop of ice cream on the side. It was the kind of dessert that feels like a hug in every bite.

Aside from the food, the service was excellent. Our server was attentive and friendly, making us feel right at home from the moment we sat down. The portions were generous, the food was fresh, and despite the high quality, the prices were very reasonable, especially considering the location and the amazing waterfront views.

Whether you're a local or just visiting Juneau, I can’t recommend the Hanger on the Wharf enough. The combination of great food, excellent service, and a relaxed, inviting atmosphere made this one of the best dining experiences of our trip. We’ll definitely be coming back the next time we’re in town!
