The food, service and ambience were perfect. This was easily the best dining experience I’ve had in Juneau. I had a craving for a cheeseburger and it was amongst the most delicious I’ve ever had. The beer selection is solid. I ordered the cheesecake for dessert along with a wonderful Expressotini. Prices are on par with restaurants around of similar caliber in the lower 48. My server was perfectly attentive and very pleasant :)

Visited while in port on a cruise. It was nice to get away from the cruise ship food. Fresh, delicious, and service was top notch.

SALT is literally the only fine-dining spot in Juneau, so it could easily be mediocre without much competition. Instead, each dish is delicious and thoughtfully prepared! They use truly local ingredients, which is difficult in this part of the world, leading to a noticeable price increase. But if you're looking for really good upscale seafood in Juneau, this is the spot.

Been here a few times now and meal was absolutely perfect. Don’t believe the reviews about cost verse portions. Alaska is very expensive because they have to import almost everything except the Halibut and salmon!

Had a fabulous meal last night at Salt. They were busy so we took a table in the bar and Erica took great care of us all evening. The food was fabulous! I had the spotted prawns and my hubby had the Kind Salmon special. Both were delicious! We also had cocktails which were delicious, mine was a unique pear concoction. Capped off the meal with pistachio cheesecake with blueberry compote. Again - delicious! Loved the atmosphere and all staff was friendly. Not a cheap meal, but if you have the funds, it’s definitely worth it! It was a special treat after eating lots of bar type food on our trip. Highly recommend Salt for a wonderful upscale meal in Juneau!

If you’re in Juneau, Alaska, you MUST plan a nice meal at Salt. What a great restaurant! I can’t say enough about the amazing dining experience we had. The cocktails, wine pairings, knowledgeable wait staff, and incredible food were no less than outstanding! And while expensive, the prices are FAIR for Juneau/PNW. Standouts: Clam Chowder, Smoked Scallops, Beet and Apple salad, and the evening’s special…white salmon (medium rare) with beautifully roasted carrots, mashed potato, and a lemon curd and garlic yummy sauce. Worth Every Penny!!!

The food is good. However, the main and most $$ dish Halibut Special took so long to arrive that we had already filled ourselves with appetizers, bread and salads much before it finally came. Needless to say, a lot of it got wasted. The servers and atmosphere was good otherwise.

Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed all course we ordered and the staff was patient and kind in accommodating our needs. Thank you to everyone who made our big day great.

Would not go back or recommend. Avoid the pasta dish. It was terrible. The salmon dish was ok but not worth $60. Not really sure what went wrong but terrible price to experience ratio. Could do better so easily with better recipes.

The food was dry and tasteless. The portions were very small and the prices were higher than in NYC

A True Gem in Downtown Juneau!
Salt is hands down one of the best dining experiences in Juneau. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between modern and cozy, making it a great spot for date nights, special occasions, or just treating yourself to a really good meal. The space feels upscale but still very inviting and relaxed.
The food is consistently phenomenal — thoughtfully crafted, beautifully plated, and absolutely delicious. Their menu showcases fresh, high-quality local ingredients, with a great variety of seafood, meats, and vegetarian options. The seasonal specials are always worth trying, and their desserts are just as impressive as their entrées.
The bar is also a standout. They offer creative craft cocktails, a solid wine list, and local beers — it’s a great place to grab a drink even if you’re not staying for dinner.
Service is always warm, attentive, and knowledgeable. You can tell the staff takes pride in what they do and they genuinely care about creating a great dining experience.
Salt truly feels like a special part of Juneau’s food scene. If you’re visiting, this is a must-try. And if you’re local, you’ll want to come back again and again.

Very disappointing meal, with a memorable server who we really liked. For the price, you'll be expecting serious skill in the kitchen. But really, it's just luxurious proteins fussed over with too many ingredients, and all 3 dishes I tasted were too sweet. The bone marrow is smothered in herbs and pickled onions and some sweet fruit preserves. The bread was great though. The king salmon was served over cold rice (I asked, cold on purpose, but not a good idea) and again, sweet fruity sauce all over it. The shallot split into a pretty flower on the side still had the skin on it, so when I took a bite I had a big wad of skin to spit out. The zucchini noodles under that shallot were just okay, we've made better at home. My wife got the sablefish, which was the best dish, but it too was too fussy and too sweet. Our server was a terrific young man who we enjoyed talking to a lot, so we tipped well, but I thought the food was just bad. It's a nice quiet room to be in, but it didn't salvage the meal.

The sablefish was phenomenal as well as the crab bisque. The gnocchi and caprese salad were good. And the lamb tenderloin was okay. Our server, Drake, provided us with the best service we have received since moving to Juneau. Thank you for the experience. We will be back.

Crazy expensive. Halibut was good,
but not THAT good! Basic drinks were $18
each.
