We've eaten here before with good luck. This experience started out good but the food ended up ruining that. Appetizers came but the scallops were terrible, undercooked. 3 undercooked scallops for $28. For main course both of us ordered the filet, they were not good, hers was undercooked, mine was overcooked, the worst filets we've ever had. Service was OK to begin with, but once our meals were delivered it switched to terrible and our waitress disappeared for long periods of time. We joked that maybe she was in the back, cooking and doing dishes. I waited 30 minutes with an empty water glass, so very annoying. She never came back to even ask how we were doing, even though the place was less than half full. (The table next to ours had a different waitress and was experiencing excellent service. I wish we had been seated in her section.) We spent $270 and sadly were very disappointed with the whole experience. It's hard to imagine going back.

My spouse prefers chicken dark meat so was surprised she stated the chicken picatta was the best breast meat ever! Risotto was delicious, too.

I like lamb so thoroughly enjoyed a tasty chop appetizer and then a lamb tenderloin entree even better, both medium rare. The bread was outstanding too ... without butter!

Good preparation, presentation, and tasty complex flavors for all we ordered.

The service was very good and we enjoyed a personal conversation with our cheerful and helpful server.

Well worth the price which some patrons seem to fixate and complain about.

Great place to eat and drink. Had Erica the first night food and service was great. Second night had Scott the bartender waiting on us. Spent over $300.00 then he gave us our bill without asking and made us feel uncomfortable and we left.

Food was extremely disappointing. Ordered a $72 ribeye that was cooked 10 degrees colder than I ordered (medium rare, what showed up was near blue) little to no seasoning and the garnish was awful. I could have made a better steak from a grocery outlet. My wife had the halibut on special which for another $70 wasn’t worth the plate it showed up on. Server was good and attentive but the food was abysmal. If you’re going to go here definitely get a burger or something on the cheaper end. The overpriced protein dishes are all disappointing. As a long time Juneau resident this was pathetic.

Food was great. Service impeccable. Cocktails delicious. Goat cheese with fig is enough for 4 people. The filet was tender and the wine a great match. But I went for my 50th birthday and somehow that information didn’t make it to the staff. I was not acknowledged at all nor did they even ask if we were celebrating anything special. Given the low attendance and high cost of the food I would have expected better. But a minor miscue on an otherwise exceptional meal. Alas, no reason to go back to Juneau but still worth the trip if you’re there and looking for an alternative to the standard fare in town.

The food, service and ambience were perfect. This was easily the best dining experience I’ve had in Juneau. I had a craving for a cheeseburger and it was amongst the most delicious I’ve ever had. The beer selection is solid. I ordered the cheesecake for dessert along with a wonderful Expressotini. Prices are on par with restaurants around of similar caliber in the lower 48. My server was perfectly attentive and very pleasant :)

Visited while in port on a cruise. It was nice to get away from the cruise ship food. Fresh, delicious, and service was top notch.

SALT is literally the only fine-dining spot in Juneau, so it could easily be mediocre without much competition. Instead, each dish is delicious and thoughtfully prepared! They use truly local ingredients, which is difficult in this part of the world, leading to a noticeable price increase. But if you're looking for really good upscale seafood in Juneau, this is the spot.

Been here a few times now and meal was absolutely perfect. Don’t believe the reviews about cost verse portions. Alaska is very expensive because they have to import almost everything except the Halibut and salmon!

Had a fabulous meal last night at Salt. They were busy so we took a table in the bar and Erica took great care of us all evening. The food was fabulous! I had the spotted prawns and my hubby had the Kind Salmon special. Both were delicious! We also had cocktails which were delicious, mine was a unique pear concoction. Capped off the meal with pistachio cheesecake with blueberry compote. Again - delicious! Loved the atmosphere and all staff was friendly. Not a cheap meal, but if you have the funds, it’s definitely worth it! It was a special treat after eating lots of bar type food on our trip. Highly recommend Salt for a wonderful upscale meal in Juneau!

If you’re in Juneau, Alaska, you MUST plan a nice meal at Salt. What a great restaurant! I can’t say enough about the amazing dining experience we had. The cocktails, wine pairings, knowledgeable wait staff, and incredible food were no less than outstanding! And while expensive, the prices are FAIR for Juneau/PNW. Standouts: Clam Chowder, Smoked Scallops, Beet and Apple salad, and the evening’s special…white salmon (medium rare) with beautifully roasted carrots, mashed potato, and a lemon curd and garlic yummy sauce. Worth Every Penny!!!
