Really nice local place, not fancy, but awesome fish & chips! Big delicious, meaty halibut pieces in light batter. Good, prompt service. No need to eat down town, this place is great!

The Sandbar Restaurant in Juneau offers a delightful dining experience with stunning views of the Gastineau Channel. The warm, rustic atmosphere makes it a perfect spot for families and couples alike.

During my visit, the service was friendly and attentive, with knowledgeable staff ready to recommend dishes. I enjoyed the halibut tacos, which were fresh and flavorful, while my companion loved the reindeer sausage. The portions were generous and reasonably priced.

The drink menu features local beers and cocktails that perfectly complement the food. We finished our meal with a delicious berry cobbler that was a highlight.

Overall, The Sandbar is a must-visit for anyone in Juneau, combining great food, excellent service, and a lovely ambiance. I can’t wait to return!

Fantastic First Night in Juneau at The Sandbar!

After a long day of traveling from Las Vegas, my 13-year-old daughter and I landed in Juneau, tired and very hungry. I called The Sandbar to check if I could bring her along for dinner, and they were super accommodating, welcoming us with open arms. While she couldn’t sit at the bar, they made sure we felt right at home, which was a much-needed comfort after our day.

We got there right before closing, but they didn’t rush us at all. My daughter ordered a cheeseburger meal, and I went with the Western Buffalo Burger. Both were great – large portions, cooked perfectly, and super satisfying. My daughter polished off her burger and fries, commenting on how good everything was, and I almost finished mine! The onion rings were fresh, not frozen, and the burger was exactly how I like it – a perfect medium-rare. I also had a couple of beers, which were reasonably priced.

While we were waiting for our Lyft, I had a nice chat with the lady who runs the restaurant and another friendly employee who used to be a ski instructor. They were both so cool, offering great recommendations on things to do in Juneau and local spots to avoid the cruise ship crowds.

For our first night in town, The Sandbar was the perfect introduction to Juneau’s welcoming vibe. If you’re ever near the airport and don’t feel like sitting around waiting for a flight, swing by The Sandbar. Great food, friendly people, and a relaxed atmosphere – totally worth it!

Fish and chips are the best in Juneau and an item I would highly recommend! Only gave them a 4 because we recently tried their burgers and didn't like any of them that we ordered

This is a true local eatery. It was nice to get out of the tourist area plus have the best fish and chips in Juneau.

We didn't feel like outsiders like other reviews I. We talked to two locals at the bar who were friendly as can be. Then the bartender and manager were as well. Service was surprisingly quick as busy as it was.

The food was amazing, ranch wasn't my favorite but whatever. The staff didn't really pay attention when we asked to find more water so we had to ask again. But quiet environment in front and great food

Parking: Pretty small parking lot in front

Wheelchair accessibility: Little difficult to get through the door in a wheelchair. And as far as seen 1 handicap parking spot
