Before stopping in I read a review that said the corned beef hash wasn't the same as other places. The reviewer thought it lacked flavor so I knew that probably meant it was house made. Most folks are used to the canned version. Sandpiper does a really excellent hash with sizable chunks of seared corned beef, nicely crisped hash browns, peppers, scallions and grilled tomatoes. Far superior to the can. My wife had the mandarin orange and marscapone stuffed French toast. Hearty slices of custardy toast. You can see that the small portion is quite generous. Fantastic. I added a side of the salmon lox and thought it was quite good. Service was friendly and refills were frequent. Bright and clean atmosphere. It wasn't busy when we visited so I can't speak to how the service is when they're hopping but I'd be willing to find out.

We’ve been customers for several years… we’ve noticed a decline in service and food quality. Our service this morning was awkward and disconnected. I reordered the chicken focaccia sandwich. The focaccia was floppy, soggy and falling apart, but anything that you’d expect from a sandwich served on it, should be served warm, crispy and soft. This was disappointing. Our server was awkward and avoided conversation .

Great contemporary spot for breakfast and lunch with generous portions. The service was excellent and definitely a go to for breakfast or brunch when you’re in Juneau.
We showed up early for breakfast 9am and asked for a table of 4. They refused to seat us until our full party arrived, 2 more people, and proceeded to seat 12 cruise ship passengers. Once our party arrived, Christina, asked how we were, I said better a few minutes ago and she asked how many people, I said four and she replied “you can see how busy we get” and I said yeah. She replied “Are you sure you want to eat here, you seem pretty upset” myself and friend were shocked to hear her accuse us of being upset and Christina continued to say we were being rude and wanted to know if we even wanted to eat here”. Christina was clearly having a bad day and just walked away. She sadly took it out on locals. The food is okay but the service is snobby and unfriendly to locals.

Clean and bright cafe. We waited for quite some time to be greeted by the server, to make orders and for the food to be served. A table next to us got their order taken right after seated and got their food quickly so I didn't know why it was much longer for us.

My wife and I ate breakfast here and it was amazing, she had the sausage omelet and I had the corned beef hash. The flavors were delicious, between the grilled veggies and the perfectly cooked hash, we didn't want to leave. They had fresh cooked bread as well. The waitresses were friendly and on top of everything. We definitely will go back.
