I first visited the Taku store in Juneau in 1993 while on a cruise. I asked for a large whole salmon to be shipped to my hometown - a special family treat for my mother's upcoming birthday dinner since she loved salmon. They helped me decide on the amount needed and then shipped it. It was awesome! I have been purchasing salmon from Taku ever since. I have yet to find a source in Cincinnati (and I've tried many other establishments), where I live, that can supply the same quality. I purchase king salmon filets from them regularly, and I have also gotten the black cod and halibut. My husband loves their smoked salmon packs, as well. When my family and I were in Juneau a few years ago, I took them to visit the store so they could see the place I experienced in 1993. We are regular online patrons. You can't do better than Taku if you want quality!

I’ve only tried the halibut rub so far and it is great. Certainly adds flavor to the halibut, which is a mild white fish. I made halibut tacos with the halibut pieces and it was delicious.
