The only reason I need to go back to Ketchikan is to visit the Alaska Fish House. I love the Alaskan halibut, best in the world. The staff are enthusiastic and polite. The atmosphere is sort of like family since most times you will share a table with others enjoying their own vacation and anxious to trade stories.Do not miss it , it’s great!

The Alaska Fish House was a good meal with locally sourced seafood giving a full Alaska experience. The lines were long during our visit to the Ketchikan port while on a cruise but the line continuously moved so it seems the system they have works to get people through. The food itself was very good, we ordered crab and the sampler of three fish. Everything was good and hot. The salmon wasn't overpowering and the breading on all the fish seemed to complement the various fish varieties well. The crab was very good and meaty so that is recommended as well. The restaurant can seem very small during lunch time so you may find yourself sitting with other people at your table. It's not too bad, but if you have personal space issues this may be off putting. We found everyone to be nice so it wasn't an issue for us.

Convenient to cruise ship pier. Long line that moves fast with seating inside and a few tables outside. Seating inside is a bit difficult to find but high turnover keeps a few seats open. People are interested in the town and do not linger. Menus on wall behind register, walk up check prior to ordering. The combo is the best choice and was filling and well done. Beer available if desired. Overall very good experience with staff and food.

Had dungees and halibut, food was fine, nice clean restaurant etc. Expect to pay high price due to location, I get it. BUT... How about you don't screw us while we eat here? Dungees for $49.99/lb??? This was just 2 weeks ago. And you get them off your back porch? I'm in New Mexico, and I just bought them at Costco last night for $9.99/lb. How can you do this to people and feel good about yourself? Uncalled for, I'll never go back. See receipt below for 1 lb! Vs 2.6lbs at Costco in New Mexico!!

I cannot tell you how excited I was to try this place! Multiple people recommended it and if honestly could not be in a better location for all the tourists that come through. The dock pulls up right into town and this restaurant is across from the lumberjack show. Order at the window first and find a seat. It was a rainy day here and we were the only boat that made it in so i luckily didn't have to wait and grabbed the corner table with a great view. I've never had a variety of fish in my fish n chips order and it was cool to try! I got the sampler and was a bit disappointed as all three fish were a bit on the dry. I'd say the salmon was the best of the bunch but that may be unconscious bias since it is Alaska after all. If I could, I'd give it another go.

I ate a Pacific cod burger with fries and coleslaw. Every bit of it is amazing. The fish has clean flavor and crisp breading with an artisanal bread. The coleslaw is the cherry on top of the very good cake. It is so different than any bland coleslaw I've ever tasted. Alaskan Fish House has my stamp of approval. I will be back.

Let me start with the service upfront, the person at the register was so sweet and polite, even though it was a long line they weren’t rushing us along. The tables and inside was very cozy with a fire going. The food was UNBELIEVABLE. Chowder was probably the best I’ve ever tried. I’m not a fan of fish tacos but the blackened halibut tacos were so delicious. Thank you for the amazing food and service.

There a line to eat at this highly recommended fish house. We waited and the line eased up quickly. You order at the counter, find a coveted table and they bring you your order. There's also a walk up bar where you can get wine, cider and beer. The bar guy talked with me about the various cider options. Excellent choice and from a local place.Ambiance: Bathrooms are clean and tables are monitored and cleaned for the next group of eaters. Food: the landlubber in our group found something non seafood and he enjoyed it. I enjoyed a giant Dungeness wholeCrab for $49, yup they are pricey for one crab. I also tried the combo fried fish. It's batter was not too greasy and it came with fries.

We visited the Alaska Fish House during our cruise through the inside passage of Alaska. It is right beside the Lumberjack show and close to many stores. We went to the first Lumberjack show and it was too early to eat as soon as it ended but we made sure to arrive before the second show let out. Ordering is done at a counter and then food is brought to you. There was a decent sized line but it moved quickly. This was the most common recommendation we saw for eating in Ketchikan and we thought it lived up to the hype.

Love this place, some of the best fish in Alaska. A nice change from the cruise ship fare. Quaint fish & chips shop featuring salmon, cod and halibut. Generous portions fried perfectly at a reasonable price. Dining room has bench seating at shared tables overlooking the harbor. Not the Ritz but somehow it all works. Fun experience.
