We want to love this place but this is the 2nd time we ordered via the website, went to pick up during the scheduled pick up and walk in and get told they just got the order online. This is after notification that the order was received and in progress. We ordered 45-50 minutes ago and now told to give her 10-15 more minutes. We could have gone elsewhere for an hour 20 wait.

This is a carry out or delivery place. Everything i have had from them is pretty good. The pizza is my favorite in the valley so far though, and the wings are the best in AK. Big conisseur of wings in pizza, and I have never been disappointed by Pizza Athena. They do get busy, but the food is worth the wait. They are a small establishment, so be patient. And if they make a mistake, they will fix it.

We got 4 XL pizzas for $88 which I guess by today's standards is normal. The pepperoni pizza was really good! However, the cheese pizza left a lot to be desired. The cheese just did not melt well and was pretty much a slate of cheese with a little amount of sauce. Service was alright, the store is small and the shop does the best it can to get orders out. I would come back for the pepperoni pizza though for sure!
Edit: Changed to five stars! We ordered again recently and had no issues with the food quality. The owner also addressed the issues we had before kindly and professionally. I commend her dedication to customer service and she's doing it right. Thank you Pizza Athena!

I just cannot believe how bad the customer service is here. I absolutely love the pizza and that's the one reason I come back. Every single time it's something different. I'm told 50 minutes to an hour wait for pickup. I show up at 50 minutes and they say 20 more minutes. I wait 20 minutes and go ask if it's ready and they are just putting the pizza in the oven. Not to mention they act like I'm an inconvenience for asking. Took an hour and a half to get one large pizza. Was my pizza good? Yes. Is the service awful. Yes. This isn't the first time I've had this experience. That's the only reason I'm writing a review.

We haven't had pizza in a while because we are traveling in our rv from Florida. We stopped here after going to the Musk Ox farm. The atmosphere was great they had a piano player. The pizza was delicious. Taking some with us for our trip to Kenai.

As an Alaskan I've heard about this place in name and as that slice place. We finally got the best pizza yet here! Not overly saucy, not too thin or thick crust, flavor of the sauce and crust we're great. This will be our go to in that area. Plus the guy got out XL pizza out in 15mins over 4th July craziness! Best priced pizza in our state too!

Waited excessively too long. They said 30-35 mins we waited over an hour. They were rude and got our order wrong. And the food was mediocre at best. Save yourself a bad experience and go somewhere else.
