An upscale restaurant in Palme, Alaska. Great food and delightful owners. They serve the best cheesecakes in Alaska.

I was impressed with both the food and the service. I made a reservation for a birthday, and the staff went above and beyond to make the guest feel special. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the food was absolutely delicious. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

Yummy food in a cozy and lovely atmosphere (pretty natural chic decor). Service was on point as well - she was timely, friendly, and amenable to our requests and numerous questions.

I ate here with my daughter. She ordered the lover of meat canzone and loved it! I had the turkey/cranberry panini. It was okay. We also had these little salted caramel cups for dessert. They were wonderful! The atmosphere was pleasant and the place was clean. Service was excellent. We will definitely be back.

Always enjoying supporting local. We did find some hair in our food in a few dishes, so I suggest hair nets for your cooks. food honestly not sure I would come back because it's very limited. but id look into adding a few more dishes

Update: Tried again. Service and food top notch. Owner came out and chatted and apologized. Will be back again. Updated to reflect most recent experience.

Food was good, service not so much. Food took a long time, server never came by to refill water, waited 10 minutes for a dessert that never came, and when we were ready to go she was nowhere to be found with our check. The place wasn't full, so not sure what the problem was. I ordered the dessert to go but that took a really long time as well and I was late for my next appointment. Without asking they heated it up but it was cold by the time I ate it anyway, so what was the point of that? We ended up there almost an hour and a half. Not a great first impression.

We were only visiting Anchorage for a few days, and really wanted to get a feel for unique food found only around here. This ended up being the perfect option!

Their menu focuses on paninis as the main course for dinner, but they also offer salads, calzones, and a few appetizers (including one I've never seen on a menu before!). Everything we ordered was delicious! Highly recommend trying anything on the menu that stikes your fancy - the variety of things we got were all top tier and the rest of the menu promises to be just as good.

Our wait staff were also incredible. They were cordial, attentive, and just plain nice. You could tell they were really passionate about making their guests feel welcome. (Our particular waiter was Noah; thank you Noah for an amazing experience!)

Don't forget to order a dessert, too! We learned that the owner loves to make different kinds of cheesecakes, and makes whatever feels right at the time. There is no consistent cheesecake menu, just whatever happens to be in the display case. We tried the Samoan and were blown away by how rich and delicious it was. I'm sure any other option will taste just as good with such a phenomenal baker behind it.

Thank you Sweet Gypsy for a wonderful dinner! If we find ourselves in Alaska again, we will definitely make a point to come back. Much love from Seattle ❤️

Welcoming environment & staff. The whole menu sounds delicious. Which most of it they are able to make gluten free or vegetarian, (vice-versa if you'd like to add meat) Kids menu is simple and fair priced, thankfully! since my daughter wasn't interested in her quesadilla that was oozing with cheese 😋 the rest of us went w/soup & panini + 2 halves of different paninis. ALL of it was warm, filling, cooked with love comfort food. Plus it was just as great for leftovers today! We were too full for dessert unfortunately so that will be the next trip made there.

Sweet Gypsy is a welcome alternative dining space in the Valley. I'm a big fan of all my menu choices so far, except for the disappointing meat calzone. The salads are superb! I usually take home dessert for later, and they don't disappoint. I especially loved their version of carrot cake, but I try something different each time, and they are all great. I live a long way from Palmer, and SG will continue to draw me back. Give it a try.

We stumbled upon this place by chance while passing through—and I’m so glad we did! Our server, Justine, was an absolute gem—kind, attentive, and incredibly efficient. The food? As fresh as it gets. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and the little thoughtful touches throughout the meal took it to a whole new level. An unforgettable experience from start to finish. Highly recommend!
