Food was good. The main dish we ordered comes with a side of rice. To be honest the rice was not fresh and super dry. When we asked the lady who served us she tried to fool us by saying this is how the rice we make here.
The menu says its garlic butter rice and what we got is uncooked dry rice. It must be either frozen rice or refrigerated left over. She doesn't have the courtesy to replace the side and she even told there are so many complaints about the rice. Never order this side because its absolutely a waste of money. Almost all the dishes are overpriced.
I was trying to be helpful as there were just two of us I did not want to take a bigger table. We were told we would get service at the bar. After 10 minutes of no one acknowledging us I said to a server who was going to walk right past us "we were told we were going to get service here." We were told someone was coming, waited 10 more minutes, then left.
Food was very good! The clams were the smallest I've ever had, but they were good and descent size on our last visit. It would be nice if they served each person at the table a slice of their cornbread, it's so good!

This place had great fish. We stopped here on our way out of town and the meals were fantastic. Salmon, fish and chips. Everything we got was fresh and flavorful. Cool fishing vibe. Was recommended to us by a guide who was heading there after his tour was done. Would definitely recommend.

The shrimp or prawns were over cooked but ok. The salmon was good. My husband had a hamburger ordered it well done. Hes a picky eater no pink beef. He could only eat around the edges of the patty that were more done.

My family and I loved dining here! The kind crab was awesome. It’s just barely outside of the main downtown Seward area and worth checking out. We had a large group visiting Alaska for a wedding and several of us (in smaller groups) all made time to come eat here. It was cozy and homey and the food was great!! Who wouldn’t love king crab in Alaska :)

We really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately, did not. The atmosphere is fun - but that’s about all it had going for it. Don’t go there as a party of two and expect to sit at a table. We went for our 25th anniversary dinner and they asked if we wanted to sit at the bar or a table. We said table, please, and were given a buzzer. As we walked away, another employee came up and said we could sit at the bar right now! We said no, we’d wait. We were the first ones in the waiting area (we went early.) As we waited, it filled up completely. And emptied. And filled up again. Our buzzer finally went off as we were just about to leave and go elsewhere. They proceeded to direct us to seats at the bar! We said no, we’d prefer a table, special occasion and all. (Normally the bar would be fine.) We waited and watched several more parties come in and get seated. We finally got a table and almost choked on the dry cornbread. The butter saved it. They were out of baked potatoes and the only other side we wanted was a fairly pricey up charge. The seafood we got was unfortunately dry, chewy and overcooked, as well. Definitely not a place I’d recommend. (Also not the cheapest pound in town, as advertised. We had a more affordable option at a different restaurant in Seward the evening prior and the food and service was amazing there!) The Salmon Bake was entirely too expensive for the service and quality we received. Funny - reading reviews after we ate there, I saw many other parties of 2 state that they had similar experiences… that they almost refuse to sit a two-top anywhere but the bar.

I haven't had a meal like that in years. The atmosphere is the perfect blend of authentic alaska with a seafood restaurant twist. The service fast, friendly and fantastic. The seafood chowder was delicious as well as the crab cakes. The halibut fish and chips was the best ive ever had. The seafood pasta might be their best dish, my son loved it. The chocolate cake was unreal. The restaurants near the docks are ok if youre in a hurry, but Salmon Bake is minutes away and light years better. Thank you!

This place is weird, but genuinely in the best way. The menu states the food is lousy and the beer is cheap but I found only one of those to be true. They really know how to treat folks here.
