Nice variety in the menu, and everything we ordered was delish! Also prompt and friendly service, great atmosphere, and reasonable prices - what more can a traveler ask for! We ate here our first night in Sitka, and while we usually like trying different places, we liked this place so much we went back our second night.

Ordered cajun spot prawns and received a plate of unseasoned tiny shrimp with literally nothing else on the plate. not prawns. no seasoning at all. We also ordered a lingcod sandwich and it came with old stale bread and old dried out alaskan cod. not lingcod. also ordered the pickled salad which was gross brown lettuce covered in disgusting oil. save your money.

Recommended by the staff of our cruise.
This was the best food we had in SE Alaska.
I don't think they take reservations so we had a 15 min wait outside and talked to locals.
The inside is small and a bit noisy, but it's only because everyone is having a good time.
We had halibut and crab. Both were fantastic!
In the land of fish this was the only perfectly cooked filet we had. Tender and moist, not the normal dry and overcooked.
Prices are high in SE Alaska, but Beak was right in line, with WAY better food.
PS -- prices include tip, very refreshing since the suggested tip at many self-service joints is 20%

Salmon baked or raw is the best I ever had. Appetizer prawns are so fresh, the meat is sweet.

Great find in Sitka. It was a nice day so we got to sit outside. The food and service were excellent and reasonably priced. Make sure to try the gooseneck barnacles as an appetizer. As unappetizing as they look they’re really quite good. They also have a forward-thinking business model whereby the servers are paid a living wage and share in the profits. Definitely recommend trying this place out while you’re in town

A really cool vibe here. Food and aeevice was great. All gratuities go to non-profits in the community. The barley soup was tasty. Presentation of food was nice. There is a gift shop on the restaurant that supports the local radio station.

We had a great meal at the Beak. Fish tacos and venison chili were great. Also had Cajun prawns as a special that were locally sourced and amazing. We were so impressed that they donate any tips to local causes. We arrived a little before lunch and were served right away. The staff was great too.

Hidden Gem of Sitka! Walk through downtown past the overstuffed food bland establishments. Take a left after the beige Post Office, and the Beak restaurant is behind the white building radio station. Local friendly staff, great atmosphere, fresh off-the-boat and locally sourced options. The fish tacos were sublime!

more than one level up—several levels up. If you are unwary, or, unprepared, you will pay more at other restaurants in town, for a fraction of the quality and experience. very highly recommended.

Eat here! We were treated to outstanding service and delicious food during our visit here. We ordered ceviche, soup, and Mac and cheese (after a chilly hike). Very high quality and not run-of-the-mill at all.
