Beak Restaurant. In a house/hotel, and well away from the crowds. A very nice spot for lunch, away from the tourist crows nearby. Inside and outside seating.
We had a good lunch here, Blackened Lingcod open faced sandwich, with tomato and potato chips. My wife had a nice beer, “Totally Pitted Hazy IPA” and I had an Oat Stout. $8.00 each. Our sandwiches were $20.00 each. $56 plus City Tax of $3.36, or 6%. No tip as they did not accept tips. My kind of place! Locality and this practice may both be the reason for a pricey lunch. Total $59.36

Lively and casual, friendly restaurant in an old house in Sitka.
The venison sausage was excellent- juicy, spiced perfectly, with a slightly crispy exterior from the grill.
Salmon salad sandwich was described by fellow diner as “very flavorful “. The pickled kelp garnish was delicious!
Highly recommended for good food and local color!

If you're in Sitka, you absolutely cannot miss dining at Beak Restaurant. This hidden gem, nestled on the lower level of a local radio station, is worth the slight detour. The food is nothing short of extraordinary—fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully crafted. I had the pleasure of trying the gooseneck barnacles appetizer for the first time, and it was a delightful and unique experience. For my main course, the blackened lingcod sandwich was perfectly spicy and satisfying. The rockfish tacos, crunchy and gluten-free, were a standout with their incredible taste.

Beak shines not only in its food but also in its inclusivity and friendliness. They offer a range of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, all clearly marked, and proudly support the LGBTQ+ community and Indigenous peoples. The restaurant's welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and excellent food make it a must-visit spot. If you find yourself in Sitka, do yourself a favor and make Beak a priority.

So good. Just slightly out of the main path from the boats, so not quite as crowded as some other options. The smoked salmon nachos are fun, and make sure to go for the kelp salsa.

We loved everything about this restaurant. This is our first time in Sitka and Beak. It was very busy when we arrived for diner but we were able to get two seats by the bar and we did not need to wait. Our dinner was excellent. We especially enjoyed the salmon. Be aware that they do not accept reservations and you may need to wait.
The restaurant shares the space with.a radio station and we liked the eclectic atmosphere.
P,S. This was my first time eating percebes and I liked them.

We returned for a second dinner and our experience the second time around was not as great as the first night. The rockfish ceviche was delicious but both our main dishes.lacked in taste. I had the salmon poke bowl. It was dry and needed more seasoning. My husband ordered the paella and he did not like the preparation.
