Nothing special about it. Overhyped. Small salmon piece with no seasoning on a cutting board with a small soup bowl smaller than the cutting board is not worth $25 something. Soup tasted like it came out of a can. Waitresses gave snarky looks as if my partner and I couldn’t pay for the meal. For your information we did pay and was even nice to leave a tip.

This was some of the best food I have had in Sitka. The seared duck breast was delicious, but the scallops were out of this world!

Well the first thing you notice about Beak is it looks like a cute little house that's been converted into a restaurant. Sitting right next to the harbor under the O'Connell bridge it's a very cute little setting. I was greeted the moment I walked in by some very pleasant staff, and while I was disappointed they didn't serve breakfast, it was around noon anyhow so I was content to try their breakfast menu. The atmosphere inside is a pleasant one, very chill and low key, mismatched furniture and wall decorations add to a more comfortable "at home" vibe. I could do without some of the more political statements being made, regardless of my agreement to their cause, but nevertheless it's their space, and I found the ambience to be comforting. The menu had a few appetizing options but in the end I decided to go with the rockfish tacos, they weren't a whole lot to look at and when they came to the table I was somewhat let down, but with a little mango habanero salsa they provided and some of the wonderful aioli and a squeeze of lime they were VERY good. Do recommend! I was talked into trying some Apple Blueberry crumble for dessert as well, against my better judgement! But it was also delightful, almond flower and granola with a perfect amount of saltiness in the tart was very well complimented by the sweetness and creaminess of the ice cream, which they give plenty of so you can meter your sweetness to your own taste. Also recommend! In conclusion, I absolutely recommend Beak! I'll definitely be going back.

If you’re in Sitka I recommend stopping to eat at Beak! The food was phenomenal and the atmosphere and service was beyond exceptional. I ended up getting the chowder and the Mac and cheese with added Salmon. I also appreciate that instead of tipping they set their prices and pay a fair wage to their staff.

Thank you to the server that recommended the Malbec. I had a half kale salad, that considering how I feel about kale, was really delicious. Also enjoyed the Facacia bread with roasted garlic and basil butter. Not sure how long they stay open after the tourists leave, but we'll definitely be back!

Ask ten shopkeepers in Sitka where the "best place to eat" is - and they will all recommend the Beak: at least the ten that we asked recommended the Beak.Food was great, service was friendly, beer was cold, bathroom was clean. The view from the porch was great, and we'd eat there again and again.
A great place for dinner! In an older building, the atmosphere is casual and nicely done interior touches. The staff was all very helpful, even though our group arrived late and stayed a bit beyond their normal closing time.

Sweet, unassuming little place that has AMAZING food! Service is attentive and efficient. FYI: even though they don't accept tips, if you do, the team donates them to local charities-CLASS ACT! Highly recommend stopping by!

I have stopped by the restaurant many times to find it not open, great location right by the water and a very interesting building. The times I've seen inside it is very clean and cozy. It's a goal now to try the food!

Small upscale restaurant with casual vibes. I've only had the rockfish tacos (it's what I get every time), as they are always excellent. One of these days I'll order something different. Occasionally they host open mic night to benefit the arts in Sitka! Very nice staff and gotta love their inclusivity.

This is a quaint little place but the food was terrible. Fish was ok but the vegetable were canned. The ambiance was cute with an impromptu live music group practising. If you want good food give this one a miss.
