Busy, but fast! Great service and delicious food. 10/10 will do again if I'm in Sitka.
Yum such good dumplings. Better than perogies as they are smaller. Had beef and potato with their special Siracha sauce. So good.
Great dumplings, service friendly but a little slow. Get the dumplings all the way. It just works.
I'm a Russian woman living in Alaska, and I regularly make pelmeni at home. I was genuinely excited to finally try this place in Sitka—but I’ve never had more disgusting pelmeni in my life. This isn’t pelmeni. It’s an embarrassment and a complete insult to Russian cuisine and culture.
What they served were tiny, flavorless dumplings clearly bought from some cheap vendor. They weren’t even shaped right—way too much dough and the smallest amount of meat imaginable. And then they suggest to serve them with curry or Sriracha? I intentionally tried them only with the classic sour cream dressing. High-quality pelmeni are so delicious on their own, they don't need anything like curry or sriracha.
There was no aromatic broth, no good meat, and not even a bowl—just a cheap plastic container. Honestly, they tasted so flat that the curry might be there just to cover it up. Total disappointment.
Whoever owns this place has either never had real pelmeni or just doesn’t care about serving authentic, quality food.
Incredibly cute, friendly staff, warm place to eat delicious food on a cold day. Enjoyed some dumplings while exploring town from pur cruise port. I'd recommend the dumplings with everything on them!
Absolutely amazing! The beef was outstanding, and I'm sure the potato is as well!
Awesome local eatery in a casual corner setting. Located in the middle of downtown. Great food and service.

During my recent trip to Sitka, Alaska, I had the pleasure of dining at Pel Meni, a cozy spot known for its Russian dumplings. I opted for the beef dumplings, and I must say, they were absolutely delicious.
The dumplings were perfectly cooked, with a tender and flavorful beef filling that was both savory and satisfying. They were served hot, with a generous dollop of sour cream and a sprinkle of fresh dill that elevated the dish to a whole new level of deliciousness. The dumplings had a delightful texture, with a slight chewiness to the dough that complemented the rich, juicy filling inside.
The atmosphere of Pel Meni is casual and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for a laid-back meal. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a leisurely dinner, the friendly staff and warm ambiance make you feel right at home.
If you're in Sitka and looking for a unique and tasty experience, I highly recommend stopping by Pel Meni. Their beef dumplings are a must-try, offering a delightful taste of Russian cuisine that will leave you craving more.

Just stopped in for a quick bite after walking all around Sitka and so very glad we did. Ordered the beef and the potato dumplings with no expectation of taste as we have never even heard of these types of dumplings much less tasted any. So very glad we stopped in. The food was quite simply delicious! I liked them both and asked for the siracha sauce to go over both. Dipped the dumplings in the sour cream and wow, the flavor was amazing. I can imagine this being a staple dish in most Russian homes. Washed it down with a mango flavored canned drink from their cooler and continued on walking the streets of Sitka enjoying the scenery.

Russian ravioli is very good, of course it doesn't have the taste of our ravioli, but it's not bad at all.
