Really good! Some of the best Mexican we’ve had in Alaska (I’ve been here for decades). Location isn’t ideal but they make the most of it.

We really enjoyed this restaurant because they offer so many tasty vegetarian options! It’s downstairs so it’s a little hard to find but totally worth it.

Called in for delivery at 6:30 pm for a pizza and wings. Was told would be 30-45 min. Called back 7:30. They then said that its on its way. At 8:00 I called to cancel. I understand if ticket got misplaced, just tell me. Thats it, always be truthful. I also felt, it I had been in a hotel my order might of been more expedited. Or not. Sadly, tough to be a local in Sitka during the summer!?

We were intrigued by the menu and tried out Yuyo's while we were in town for a week. When we walked in, we were a little confused because it did but look like a restaurant but the seating is in a back room. We were one of two tables in the dining area. The service was ok, not amazing but not terrible. The server was nice enough but not over the top friendly. I felt she seemed more shy or introverted than anything else. We ordered a carne asada sandwich and my husband and I split the full triple quesadilla with carne asada. The chips were delicious, perfectly crispy and salted. The server refilled our basket once when we asked. The carne asada was tender but not terribly flavorful. I felt that it needed a little bit more spice or something. I am not sure if I'd come back unless I was really craving Mexican food.

The food was 4/5 but this place has a lot of heart so I can't but help give it a 5. We got:- Mexican coke + watermelon Jarritos- fresh chips(!!!) and generic salsa- the baked/fried ravioli as an app- multiple burritos- a plate of nachos- a plate of enchiladasMy family of six, coming from NYC to Vancouver, arrived via cruise in Sitka and ended up here on a whim. We love and are fairly picky Mexican eaters and maybe would have turned away on any other day but we ended up in the empty restaurant. We were so happy we did. It's a family run spot in the basement but it deserves your tourist money for a decent meal.Other patrons were getting pizzas and they looked pretty good (coming from a NYC-er) but we were too stuffed to even consider it. We enjoyed the food too much to do many pics but I took one of the enchiladas as they were a great find.

I ordered 1 taco al pastor and 1 taco carne asada. I didn't get what I ordered. They didn't care either. They changed it to a 1 taco al pastor and 2 tacos carne asada and charged me the meal without telling me. It literally looked like they took half a taco and split it to 2 and called it a meal. They took it upon themselves to add bbq sauce to the al pastor tacos, absolutely ruining them. They've never done this when I've ordered the same taco in the past. I was shocked at how bad it was. It wasn't even the right kind of meat. The steak smelled like it was on the brink of being spoiled. Since it didn't have any seasoning on it, the stench it had was a rank sour smell. The steak tasted like burnt old meat. I thought that was just a feature of the 'sincronazada' where that tastes like unseasoned burned meat pieces. Nope it is all bad. They can't chop an onion. The 'diced' onions were bigger than the steak. We're talking irregular chunks bigger than a 6-sided die. The portions of the carne asada is a complete scam. If you combine the 2 carne asada taco's in 1 tortilla it is still less than a single Ye Taco Loco taco. for 15$. So walk down the street and get 3 Ye Taco Loco's steak tacos for 15$ and get 6x the steak at way higher quality and actually diced onion. + great salsa and fresh lime. Overall, the 2 worst tacos in town. This place might have the 7 worst tacos in town if the others are anything like the 2 I had. When I had asked why there was BBQ sauce on the taco, they said "I don't eat the tacos, so I don't know." LOL. Wasn't greeted when I entered. Wasn't acknowledged for a good 5 minutes. I was the only person there. Just sitting there trying to get the internet to work so I can see a menu and they finally say "Dine in?" No hello or anything. Wasn't asked if I wanted a drink. Didn't ask if I wanted 1 taco split to 2 and charged a meal. Didn't care that my meal sucked or bother to take the complaint. So, I'll just leave it here as a warning.

Go down the street to Ye Taco Loco and order pizza from Pizza Express. Both places have better tacos at a better price. Yuyo's has the atleast the 2 worst tacos in town. Terrible service, easily the worst in town. The steak is unseasoned, sour smelling, burnt, and dice more finely than the onions. Speaking of which were not diced conventionally. The irregular onion chunks were the size of a 6 sided die so I assume they guy in the back used dice as a reference to dice onions. There is no way you can serve what I had received and say that you care. Nor did they say as such when I went to complain. 'Oh I don't eat the tacos' when I had asked why they decided to add BBQ sauce to my taco without telling me. They straight up ignored my complaint about messing up my order yet still charging the full meal charge. If they don't care, then I will share it with people that might. I had ordered 1 al pastor and 1 steak taco ala carte. What I received was a 'meal' consisting of 1 'al pastor' taco which was just pineapple, pork grisle, and bbq sauce (Seriously wtf) , 2 steak tacos, which was criminally scummy. Imagine you take a Ye Taco Loco taco, dump half the steak out, then split it into 2 tacos. But wait you got to let the meat spoil and wash off the seasoning. Then you got a Yuyo steak taco. Then you have the 'meal' which is just reheated rice beans and guac, sour cream, and pico featuring our massive onion chunks. 20$ DO NOT GET TACOS HERE. 2 steak tacos here is like 15$ Walk down the street and get 3 Ye Taco Loco's and you get 6x the meat, actually diced onion and cilantro, fresh lime, and great salsa for 15$ You don't get the cabbage though. Which is the best part of the dish I experienced. And Ye Taco Loco doesn't scam you when they mess up your order. Since they didn't seem to care about the complaint, I figured I'd share with with people that might. This place is a terrible shame to tacos everywhere. I simply couldn't believe that they openly scammed me to my face. I'm more upset that they couldn't care less about it than the meal I was served.

Funky but great food. Young server was attentive. Fantastic homemade chips and salsa. S-L-O-W. Make sure you have plenty of time. Food was great. Will go again. Just beware this is not fast food. Plan to eat lots of chips.
