We didn't stay in a room but rather we walked from our cruise ship for an absolutely amazing lunch!
10 out of 10 we would stop in for a meal in a blink of an eye.

We are even looking into visiting the area for a few days and possibly staying at this Inn.

Keep up the great work!

I got lunch here on our cruise stop. I got the smoked salmon chowder and the elk meatballs. Both tasted wonderful and the staff were friendly and quick. They grow a lot of their food in a garden out back.

Walkability: 4blocks past vister center the real one. 8min walk from there.

Food and drinks: Red/white wines, some mixed drinks, get Salmon puff dish= salid clam chowder with it. So good!!

We had an early lunch. Excellent food and service. I had the crab legs(excellent)and fries, wished I had ordered the salmon chowder instead of the fries. Go for the double order of slaw- it’s amazing!
Loved the music as well. A great change from the Cruise music….
BTW, they smoke their hamburgers. We unfortunately ate so early, they weren’t ready yet…..

Stopped in for a crab lunch and Olivia’s did not disappoint, food and service were wonderful! We even had water brought to our table straight from the glacier! Made my sons port stop!

Food and drinks: Our lunch was fresh and delicious!

For the grade we give them, I don’t understand…. A fish & chip costs $32 for 3 tiny pieces of fish (2.5in long x 1in wide and not even 1in high) overcooked and very dry…. The next day we went to eat it at the seaport for cheaper, much fresher and much more generous portions…
The lady who served us was nice, that’s all ☹️
I do not recommend…. In addition, the photos shown are not representative of what we had…. My fish & chips didn't have nice breading like the photo, just 3 small, very dry pieces and for the King Crab it arrived dry on the plate without any accompaniment.... Misrepresentation…

Food and drinks: Too expensive for the quantity and quality…

Historic hotel (the first built in Stagway) a little dated, but wanted I think to keep this old style, it was wonderful and the staff, very kind ???

My family and I visited this bistro one week ago on a cruise, and I'm still confused and mortified by the treatment we got.

All was well while we were eating. My mom and aunt thought their salads were sub-par but I liked the chowder a lot. Then the server comes around to collect our bills. My mom isn't very tech savvy and bungled the tip, but I thought it wouldn't be a big deal since we were all going to tip more and I would add some on top.

The server looked at her tip and said "wow... okay, wow. That's... I need you to tip at least 15%..." which is fair, sure.

My uncle responded "well Jesus only tipped 10%" which is also fair, as it's not mandatory to tip, just rude if you don't at all.

The server called us rude, stingy, fighting back and forth saying "you don't know how hard I work, the season is ending and I have to protect myself. You know what? I'm adding on 15% anyways for gratuity, because uh... it's a table of 5 or more." Completely lying, we're sure.

Everyone was confused about why she was so mad, and kept running her mouth about how terrible we were, talking back to my family, being just generally mean, over what?

My uncle said "Well, we'll never be back here again." and she replied "Well of course not, you're on a cruse, duh." Completely uncaring of us or how rude she was being.

At that point she came to collect my bill. $28 for a bowl of soup with her mandatory tip. I added another 8% on top to get her attention and told her "please, I worked at Sonic in the Texas heat for $4.25/hr, I get that you work hard, please, just stop making it worse."

And she threw up her hands and started in on me. At that point, I was flushed red with anxiety and wanted to cry at how she was talking to us. I get working hard for your money, and waves of tourists coming in each day, but talk smack about them in the kitchen, not to their faces.

And yes, I plan on going back to visit Skagway, and I'll be sure and let everyone know to tip really really REALLY well if they don't want to get talked down to by a server.

- terrible service
- not great salads
- chowder was pretty good and gluten free
- tip well or the staff will attack you
- the staff especially don't care about you if you're on a cruise

Small hotel with a restaurant, we were here for dinner, in my experience the food is overrated and was nothing exceptional, the meatballs were very firm and the sauce was also on my wife's pasta. The king crabs were okay.
Positive, the Mojito was very good.

Nice guest garden, but unfortunately a disappointment in the service. We sat in the garden and wanted to order drinks and a snack from the menu. Drinks so far so good. We were told that the food could not be brought into the garden. Since the indoor area was too stuffy for us in the bright sunshine, we left the food behind. After lingering for 15 minutes, we unfortunately discovered that other guests had received service in the outdoor dining area (including food). Therefore, unfortunately I cannot recommend this location.

We went in to look at the restaurant and the older male worker said “we’re not an F-ing museum” right to my face. Not a great first impression. Would not recommend.
