This place was my favorite meal of my trip. The owners are very nice and accommodating. We had a food science class and it was very informative.
Halibut puff pastry was excellent! The strawberry rhubarb wine was great too - light and not too sweet.
We did not stay overnight there but had one of the best meals during our three day stay in skagway. The most amazing seafood pasta you will ever eat. Highly recommend
We stopped in for lunch while at port. This place has amazing food! We all had something different: halibut pastry, chowder, fish & chips, and meatballs. Excellent! I highly recommend stopping by and enjoying a meal in their garden.
Cutest little place. Service amazing ( the manager not so much so steer clear ) but the baked Alaska! OMG chef's 💋!
It was a restaurant with a calm and relaxed atmosphere.
I had the seafood pasta!
The shrimp were large and very satisfying.
The halibut was grilled to a crispy perfection and tasted great.
The gentle flavor of the cream sauce complemented the dish wonderfully.
I'm truly grateful to the chef in the kitchen who kindly checked in on me and responded with a warm smile.
We’re visiting from Alberta, Canada, and had a wonderful experience at Olivia Restaurant in Skagway! A big thank you to Victoria for her amazing customer service—she was so friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. Her positive attitude really made a difference.
The food was excellent, and the king crab was absolutely fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked.
We’ll definitely be recommending this restaurant to our friends, family, and business associates back home. If you’re ever in Skagway, make sure to stop by Olivia Restaurant—you won’t be disappointed!
Small plates, under cooked, overpriced.
But there is a real farm to table effort, so that’s nice.
We only came for the food while we browsed downtown Skagway and it was phenomenal! It’s a small, quaint little restaurant and it has a very home like feel to it. Customer service was outstanding when you first walk in and they greet you with warm smiles and friendly and present service. It is pretty pricey, but the portions were reasonable and the quality of food was exceptional.
We shared the salmon puff and fish and chips and they were both delicious! The salmon puff was crunchy and crisp. Had the perfect fried flavor housing plentiful salmon inside. Same goes for the tender and flavorful halibut too. It was fried perfectly, and the side salad that came alongside with it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Fresh veggies and a delectable dressing paired alongside it.
The draft Kodiak ale we ordered paired perfectly with our meals as well. A perfect meal boost for our tourist vacation along Skagway.
The elk meatballs were amazing.

Delicious food, sunny day in Skagway, ate in the garden. It’s away from the dock, lot less people on the main street. Garden is lovely. The food is delicious. Spread and bread – salmon spread on their sourdough Crostini… Super delicious. Elk meatballs – on crostini… Super delicious. Rhubarb crust is the perfect finish.
The staff is as nice as can be. Worth going up to 7th street!
We did not stay in the hotel but we had lunch in the restaurant! Delicious meal and beautiful atmosphere
This restaurant at Skagway Inn was awesome, crab was fresh and sweet. A bit pricey at $90 for a lb, but was a great meal. Their smoked salmon dip was so delicious! The halibut fish and chips was also just as good. This was the best meal of our trip and just had to share this jewel. Service was welcoming and fast. Location is a bit further up the main street, but well worth the walk.
I had lunch at Olivia's Bistro July 21, 2025. The service was quick and efficient. On the menu was Elk meatballs; I recommend them because they have a tasty flavor that is not gamey and the tomato based sauce had flavor yet was not too salty, which is rare in restaurant food.
If you are in Skagway, and the weather is good, I suggest Olivia's Bistro and dine outdoors. Their garden area is nice, the air is fresh and so is the food.
We did a local food science presentation here during our honeymoon cruise! It was so much fun and folks were so personal and clearly passionate about what they do. Not too much showmanship or touristy vibes which was a relief on a long trip. And such good smoked salmon dip and baked Alaska (I hold these folks responsible for converting me to a blueberry lover.)
