Our favorite place to get cookies, hot chocolate, lunch or pie after a day of sledding. But since the scam-demic they are NOT open. I’m a local, each time I drive by they are locked up. Always! You can’t wash your clothes, get food, nothing. Unless you reserve a room then it’s like you’re locked in. It’s strange.I love this place but since 2020 it’s gone down hill massively. I miss it.I can not in good conscience suggest a place that is still treating people like it’s 2020.They treat locals like they are walking contagions but travelers from out of state like royalty, like they are gods or somehow better than the rest of us.I am a local, 25 years in Alaska. This is NOT Alaskan behavior.

We stopped here for cinnamon rolls back in July and were not disappointed. Absolutely incredible! The ginger molasses cookies were good too (and from my understanding you really can't go wrong with any of the baked goods) but the cinnamon rolls definitely won out in our opinion. Huge and reasonably priced, too.

The Roadhouse was on our bucket list of places to stay and I have to say it’s been one of my favorite experiences. I’ve never stayed at a place that felt so comfortable and relaxing. The owner is incredibly nice and has covered every basis to make the stay as perfect as possible. Thanks to Trisha and staff for the memorable time here! Looking forward to our next stay.

Luckily the only place open for breakfast. It was delicious! Reindeer pig in a blanket and unctuous flaky blackberry pasty!

Trisha is an excellent hostess. She overcommunicated so it was super easy to check in & know what was available. The upstairs suite has 3 individual bedrooms with a shared bathroom (which was small but for one night, more than adequate). Delicious cinnamon rolls in the morning downstairs for breakfast were available as well. Great location & a perfect stop on the way to Denali.

Great value for money, the best I had in my 7 weeks in Alaska. A lovely historic house. The room was so nice decorated, very comfortable and super clean. The in-house bakery is 1st class, don't miss it! Just the perfect place for breakfast or a snack in-between.

I've been coming here for 22 years. Now the owners are absentee, the operations are turned over to two foreign young women who have too much to do. The friendliness is gone. I'll not be back.

Highly recommend. Clean. Quiet. Very strong WiFi. Enjoyed the common area with games + books. We did laundry. Fantastic location. French press for coffee in the morning (along with a wide variety of teas). And budget friendly.

This is one of my favorite places in the world. If you're looking for the most authentic Talkeetna Alaskan experience this is it! Love all the great memorabilia from Talkeetna's storied mountaineering history. Even though their breakfast menu is limited it's one of my favorite breakfasts in the entire world. If you care more about staying someplace fancy, this might not be for you. But if you want a real Alaskan experience it's this place. So charming and authentic!

They used to have the best cinnamon rolls.

This is a great place for breakfast, the pancakes are delicious. I also like that they factor employee wages into their prices so they don't do tips!

5 stars for the staff. 1 star for the crazy owner!Took all the COVID money and closed laid off an entire staff. I speak the truth. Relies on the lodge for her staff. Doesn't pay and cheated staff out of tips.
