“The food is great, bar food so what you pay is what you get but the selection is quite fun! They usually have a decent selection of beer, and beer on tap. Staff is efficient and kind! In the winter this is one of the few local food joints, with regular hours. Kid friendly!”

“10/10 The Flying Squirrel Bakery Cafe is always such a welcoming space, friendly atmosphere, smiles all around, and very kind staff! The café is always clean, fresh and changing ( for the better). They always offer amazing treats, sandwiches, breakfast, coffee, unique drinks and pizza!! Everytime I come in there is new art on the walls, and lovely locals and travelers all around. I am a local so I am a little biased but I have been OBSESSED with this café since I moved here. The atmosphere allows me to stay productive when working on business things. There's a little play "space" for littles too.”

“This is a good little basic coffee spot. They have coffee. They have a few offerings of food. They do bagels with a few different options on them. The bagels are okay but they're nothing amazing. They could use a little sprucing up but they are what they are.”

“Fun environment, great pizza-- personal size, and a great selection of beer for every drinker. They always have a sour or two or mixed cocktail. The Denali spirits are one of the few reasons I visit. Huge selection from the gift shop as well : T-shirts, hoodies, hats, stickers, cups, tumblers, coasters, etc. The staff is amazing as well and fast. I remember last spring we went in and they ran short of one drumstick and he offered to buy my boyfriend and I a whole other round ! Great people and great place, and also across the street from the bike path.. so manageable for visitors as well!”

“They family was so nice! We loved eating at Annie’s kitchen next to the tent and enjoyed the waffle hot dogs & pulled pork sandwiches with ice cream! Family owned business and we love the ornaments we bought hand made from local birch wood tree bark! These were $25 & $35 on the pricey side but handmade and local.”

“Food is good- it's subway. so, just good. lol Service is friendly. Cost is too much, but, it's Talkeetna so it's expected. It's my regular stop for kid's hockey trip to Fairbanks or my annual snowmachine trip to Talkeetna. So, it's familiar and I like it.❤ Unisex bathrooms, plenty of seating & parking. The place is clean everytime I go there.”

“Shirley's homemade ice cream is the best I ever tasted. It is soft serve and so creamy. I especially like the Fireweed flavor. I wish she open a branch here in Pennsylvania or a delivery service.”

“Base Camp Bistro is conveniently located inside the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge. If you are staying there, it’s an easy spot for dinner. It does get busy so you can expect a wait either on a table or on your food. Servers work incredibly hard. Everyone is truly trying to provide great service.
Food was good. They were out of a lot of food items and drinks. Maybe due to it being close to the end of the season.
We tried the Caesar salad- the small portion is huge!! I can’t even imagine the large.
The halibut Reuben was amazing!!! So delicious. Highly recommend it. Salmon burger was just okay. Not a lot of flavor.”

Stopped on our way up to Denali and grabbed some chocolate chip cookies which were awesome! Had to stop again on our way back from Denali and try a brownie, absolutely amazing!
Would stop for a treat or loaf of bread everyday if I lived nearby!”
