We visited Bamboo Garden Restaurant during lunchtime, expecting a quick and pleasant dining experience. While the restaurant wasn’t crowded, the service felt a bit slow. However, the server was friendly and attentive, doing her best to meet all of our needs, which we greatly appreciated.
When the food arrived, it was served piping hot, a clear indicator of freshness. Unfortunately, the dishes lacked bold flavors and felt more like simple preparations rather than standout meals. While this might appeal to some diners who enjoy subtle tastes, it didn’t quite resonate with me.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is quaint, with plenty of tables to accommodate guests, making it a comfortable space to dine. Although I can see how others might enjoy this spot for its simplicity, it’s not a place I’d choose to return to.

Visited for lunch. They have the best hot and sour soup. Both of us had General Tsos chicken and yummy as usual.

Went for lunch with my husband on a Friday around 12:30. There was only 1 other couple in the entire restaurant. The placed smelled kinda sickening but we thought maybe it was from the broccoli. There are stains all over the 'carpeted' floors. The server was not friendly at all. When taking our order she came to the table and just said "what you want?" Food was ok, nothing to brag about, but honestly the service we received closed the book on us ever returning.

This place could be the best Chinese restaurant around for Alabaster, Helena,Pelham. If they would just stop with the extra charge for everything. Give a little more sauce with the main dish. And add soup to the lunch meal. The food is Great,Fresh, Hot. Portion of food is good. Could add a little more to the meal, of protein and rice. It could be the number 1 spot for your Chinese kick. If just little changes was to be made.

Extremely slow. They clearly don’t care about customers. They also do not take delivery drivers serious. Waited to start order until I arrived. Horrible service.

I've been going here for years, and it's still a great restaurant to dine in. I would often order the subgum wonton special.

The food tasted odd. Mongolian chicken tasted nothing like Mongolian sauce. Fried rice was flavorless. I am so disappointed ..... and

I've eatin at plenty of GREAT Chinese restaurants (I'm from Chicago) just moved here to Alabama Montevallo and nope I'm sorry but this place really was nasty. The orange chicken especially didn't taste fresh it had a freezer burn taste. Ordered Mongolian beef and didnt ave no spice at all I guess people can say it's a good thing but no flavor just beef onion they should call it. No soy sause. Nope I will not order from here again.
My favorite Chinese place in

Our first time eating at Bamboo Garden and we were pleasantly surprised. When we arrived at 6:45 on Wednesday evening, we were the only diners in the restaurant. That concerned me a bit but a couple of others came in shortly after we arrived. We ordered Sesame Chicken and Sezchuan Chicken with fried rice. Both were very good and were served quickly. Food quality and quantity were excellent. We would definitely return. However, since we live in Pelham, we'll probably stick with our favorite Asian restaurant - Golden City. Bamboo Garden is a good choice if you live or work in the Alabaster area.
