I used to go here before the change. I remember the food being fresh and tasty, but sadly that was not the case this time. We originally were not going to say anything, but the waitress insisted the manager came over when she noticed we hardly touched our plate. We were honest in the kindest way possible that the food just tasted like dirty water. Like it was steamed or cooked in a dirty environment? Again, we didn’t want to complain to anyone and we were just going to pay and leave. The manager apologized, but didn’t take anything off our bill when really all we could eat was the rice. We paid and left. And the atmosphere was….interesting. Oh, and our stomachs were upset the next day 🥴

Food was good. I liked the sushi 🍣 but 1 cup of sweet tea and watching people come and go whole I wait for my food was annoying so while the food is good, the service was disappointing.

Since the restaurant was remodeled (to a very beautiful decor), there has been a definite decline in the food. Still plenty of it, but extremely poor quality ingredients and very little taste. Yum-yum sauce very weak I had hibatchi shrimp with scallops. Both the shrimp and scallops were too tough to chew, even if cut into little pieces. Noodles (spaghetti?) was virtually tasteless and veggies were tastless and tough and almost raw (despite asking them to be sure to thouroughly grill the veggies). Rice had very little flavor and was pasty. We have eaten here for years but it will be a very long time before we return.

Mizu interior is beautiful since it has been redecorated. Unfortunately, the goodness ends there. The food seems to have taken a nosedive. My husband ordered Hibachi Shrimp & Scallops, I ordered Hibachi Vegetables. We both requested the vegetables to be grilled well as the last time we visited all the vegetables were essentially raw. That didn't happen. The carrots were not grilled at all & were difficult to eat. The broccoli was stringy. The shrimp & scallops were tough & chewy. My husband could not even finish his meal because of their consistency. Although he told the server (we had 3 different ones) about the quality, no one said anything about it or came to our table. We were not offered drink refills. Very disappointing for such an expensive early meal. We don't live in this area & go out of our way to come to Mizu when we are passing through. I think it's time we look elsewhere.

Stopped in on our way to see Swan Lake and the food did not disappoint. The restaurant is divided cleanly in thirds (hibachi seating, regular seating, & sushi bar seating).
Staff was very kind & professional with speedy service.
The ambiance was SUPER elegant and wonderful.
The food was delicious and hit the spot after a long day of driving. I hope to come back and take my husband here soon.

Delicious food and entertaining. We have been here a few times and each time the results are the same. The filet hibachi dinner is absolutely amazing. The place is always clean and the cooks and servers are always so nice. It’s a must try when near Alabaster.

Good, solid hibachi offering. The service was quick and prices were fair, but the food lacks seasoning i am used to at other similar restaurants. However for the bulk of the clientele when I ate there, the lack of seasoning was probably a positive. But its perfect to take kids.

The restaurant is a little loud inside. But it's hibachi, so you probably already correctly assumed that if you are reading this.

Tonight my family and I dined at mizu and had the best experience! Our server was Sam and we will forever ask for her. My husband has a very rare allergy and she was not only accommodating but had actually heard of the allergy. She was so polite and attentive to our table. She made our evening so pleasant! This was my first experience ordering his food at a restaurant since his diagnosis and she was so helpful. We were very thankful and extremely pleased with the whole experience. Thanks Sam for being so friendly and helpful.

Plenty of food. Issue is we have gotten steak 3 times and it’s so tough you can’t eat it without chewing 50 times. Even got filet this time and it was tough.

Absolutely wonderful experience at Mizuwa! The food is delicious. We’ve been coming here as a family for a while and it never disappoints.
What truly sets this place apart, though, is the service. We always try to visit during quieter times with our young children (3 years old and 8 months old), but on this visit our little one woke up early from his nap and was quite fussy, making it hard for us to enjoy our meal.
That’s when our server Madi stepped in and completely saved the day. He offered to take our 8-month-old and gently carried him around the restaurant for at least 20 minutes so my husband and I could actually eat in peace. Madi and the rest of the staff were also wonderful with our 3-year-old, playing with her and keeping her entertained.
This kind of kindness and genuine care is rare. It turned what could have been a stressful outing into a relaxing and memorable one. Thank you, Madi, and the whole team—we’re so grateful and will absolutely be back!
Highly recommend Mizuwa for families!
