We took a small group for lunch thanks to a recommendation. The food was fabulous! Everything was really fresh. I love their dark salsa and my pork carnitas were very tender. They offer corn tortillas, which is not what a lot of places do. Our server was very kind and thorough, making sure she understood everything we were ordering. The portions are huge but everyone cleaned their plates. I will definitely go back. If you like Mexican, you'll enjoy this place.

Great prices, great food and great service. They’ve got the best cheese dip, salsa and guacamole. This is the only Mexican restaurant that you should eat at.
I went in for lunch today with my co-worker and the food and service were excellent! I had the steak fajitas with corn tortillas and queso with chips and salsa. All the food was very tasty and fresh. The waitress checked on us multiple times throughout the meal to make sure everything was good and filled our sweet teas twice as well as giving us a to go tea and boxes for the left overs. I will definitely be going back again. The prices were also very reasonable for lunch and the servicing sizes were large.

I’ve eaten in authentic Mexican restaurants all over the state from fancy ones, to gas station ones. This one is hands down my FAVORITE!! The atmosphere is so pleasant and the staff are so kind, friendly, and prompt. The food is so fresh and off the charts DELICIOUS. I decided to make a picture of my chicken fajita quesadilla after I had already started eating. Sorry. But, as you can see, they aren’t skimpy with the size. The plate is full!! It’s stuffed with chicken, cheese, bell pepper, and onion and comes with all the trimmings for only 7$. The prices are as awesome as the food!!! It’s off the beaten path in Alabaster and worth the drive from across town!!! I eat here at least twice a month!!! It’s one of the best restaurants I’ve eaten in. ?

When we moved down here, we tried many Mexican restaurants before we tried Escondido Mexicano. It's definitely our place now. Their guacamole is THE best. I was really pleased with the fajitas as the vegetables tasted freshly cooked and crisp. Not mushy like they'd sat in a pot all day like so many other places.
