The service was very slow. Took them almost 2 hours to get my food only for it to taste burnt. Sorry excuse for a Puerto Rican establishment and this is coming from a Puerto Rican.

This restaurant is SO GOOD!!! We got the pernil with rice and beans and with monfongo, and our son got the salami sandwich. We tried the chicken empanadas too. It’s the best food we’ve had in a long time. Come and enjoy!!!

Had the pernil, tostones, mofongo, chuletas, and arroz con gandules, and it was all so delicious. It was well worth the drive. The service was amazing too, lovely ladies I met today. I'm definitely coming back and recommending it to people.

To the puertorrican community or those wanting to try puertorrican food. El Calderito de mi Isla will give you the authentic flavors of the island. Worth the drive.
I got the beef steak... deliciously tender with the onion beef steak flavor of the island. Mmmmm
My daughter got the mofongo with fried pork. Another well-done dish with the island tastes. Fried pork fried to the perfect crunchy on the outside tender inside with the juice and flavor... again, of the island.

This place left me enchanted. As a Puerto Rican looking for a place for Puerto Rican food by Puerto Rican hands, it is difficult in this country and this restaurant does it justice. I loved everything from the attention to the atmosphere, to every food and drink I ordered. I ate at the place and brought food, I enjoyed it all. I recommend it 100%, it's a little piece of my island here in Albertville.
