We hosted an engagement party for our daughter and JB and his staff were excellent! JB was very accommodating and professional. I would recommend Fanny’s for any event! Or just go to eat -great food and atmosphere!
The revamped Fanny Goldmine is fantastic! The new food and drink menu is perfect for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner.. Great spot to listen to music on green Friday night! Say hello to JB and his team. They are doing a great job. Keep up the good work guys! See you soon…
I've been on Lake Martin for years, like since the early 90s. Stopped by for breakfast a few weeks ago expecting a really good breakfast on my way into Alex City for errands. While the service was okay, the breakfast was fair, with a simple omelette, , hash browns, bacon and toast, it was nothing to write home about. And the coffee was way weak. The omelet was bland and boring, the bacon had no flavor, the hash browns turned out to be cubed breakfast 'taters with no seasoning, and I had to ask for some jelly for the just plain toast. For a restaurant on the Russell side of Lake Martin I expected way better.
Had breakfast at Fanny’s today! The omelette was a taste sensation filled with cheese, tomato, Jalepeno peppers, mushrooms, and the bacon was crumbled into this fabulous concoction! The grits, toast, and coffee were all so delicious! The best part of all was our very beautiful waitress Brantley! She was so sweet and friendly making our meal just perfect! This restaurant is also very nicely decorated! Great experience for all concerned!
Our first visit to Fannys. Will not be our last. We both had the chicken tenders. Very good.
Asked to get a seat outside. Hostess told us it was going to be 20 minutes before we could get a seat. I pointed out that there were empty tables outside.she gave me a disgusted look but took us out to sit. Then the wait began. Waitress taking care of a table next to us came and went. Came back then asked if we had been seen. We said no it's been 10 minutes. She left and we had no one check on us. After another 10 minutes we got up and left.
Good food and service but disappointed they only have two beer taps.
CLOSED UNTIL APRIL 17th. Hours posted on Google are NOT CORRECT!
This place really IS a gold mine! So
Glad we found it!
We ate lunch on Saturday. The food is not good.Odered lunch special and it was not fresh.Cold fish and sides were awful. The chicken salad sandwich was mostly bread with maybe a tablespoon of chicken salad. We will not got there again!

Ate lunch on Saturday. The food was not cooked fresh. The fish wasn't hot and was like rubber. The sides were not good.It is a shame that the place is so beautiful but the food was not good.
I ordered the smash burger with fried okra. The food was hot and very tasty. That staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was so relaxing. I will definitely be a repeat offender. 😀
The place itself is nice. The staff pleasant.....you do however order at the counter..they bring your food to you.
Ordered the omelet..I've never seen such a thin omelet. They should call it a crepe. It had no flavor at all, home fries are not homemade. Would give this place a pass. At $13.00 for breakfast...go elsewhere.
You walk in, order and pay at the counter. Pour your own drinks and take a number to your table. Then they deliver the food. Room is nice, large and bright with indoor and outdoor seating. Plenty of tables and a nice two-sided fireplace. Breakfast was just ok. The omelet was a little thin, and the fillings were a little dry. The hash browns tasted like they had been delivered by Sysco. Almost $20 per person, including tax and tip. We probably won't make a point of going back.
The atmosphere is amazing and I haven’t had anything on the menu that I didn’t like. The smash burger comes highly recommended by me. I know a lot of the younger staff personally and I appreciate the fact that they are out working and learning the value of a dollar. Today though, and the reason for giving only 4 stars, I overheard a member of management yelling at the kitchen staff for a little mix up on the order placed by someone a few customers in front of me. I have worked for 3 years at a very busy and very popular Lake Martin restaurant and I have never spoken to anyone or heard a member of management speak to anyone like this lady was speaking to her staff today. Mistakes happen but it wasn’t anything that couldn’t be fixed easily. Yelling at the staff is unacceptable and not the way to keep good staff, which is hard to come by these days. HR: Listen closely to the staff’s complaints because they are legit and need to be addressed.
