Dean's Cake House never disappoints! I bought a seven layer chocolate and seven layer lemon cake this time. Both were delicious. The lemon just melted in my mouth.

This is where you go to purchase the most delicious cakes, cookies, and pastries like your Mom and Grandmother made. We always stop by twice a year on our way to the Gulf Coast and again on our way back home to North Alabama. The Carrot Cake and Cream Cheese Pound Cake are favorites, as well as any assortment of their cookies. There is a definite reason that they are famous for cakes, cookies, and other pastries.
This is our fifth year in a row stopping by Dean’s for our vacation start. Our family favorites are carrot, coconut, and the lemon but we also enjoy the cookies and many other offerings.

I have NEVER gotten a cake from here that was not delicious, but today I bought a 4 layered chocolate cake, and it was hard and did not taste good at all!!! Tasted old, it was very disappointing.
I wish I had read the reviews prior to my nearly $35 Chocolate 7 layer cake purchase. I came down with the flu right before Christmas. Normally, I would bake a cake myself but I couldn’t and have seen these cakes in a local grocery store. My husbands grandmother made these for most of the 30 years we have been married. Always moist and delicious! This cake from Renfroe’s was like chewing rubber!! So disappointed!!!! Guests took a slice and most went in the trash. The leftover cake also joined the gravesite. Don’t waste your money. Terrible product!!!!

Bought a slice of 7 layer Carmel, lemon cheese, and a slice of millionaire pie. The only thing they are world famous for is dry horrible cakes. Not sure why they call the lemon cheese. There is no cheese or even a cheese flavor. Carmel didn't have a Carmel taste. Both crumbly dry. The pie was the best. Save your money and don't stop here.

Deans cakes used to be my favorite but I Bourne today and like the other people are saying it is not the same. I actually bought 2 caramel and chocolate. The bread was dry and tasted like cornbread even the caramel is not the same. They were awful I don't know what have changed but they are not the same. I HAVE TO GO BUY MORE CAKES TO ENJOY FOR THANKSGIVING NOT FEEDING MY FAMILY THIS GARBAGE WASTED MONEY!!!!

I read about a local grocery that carries caramel cakes which are my favorite. I went right out and bought one. I must say it was terribly. It was almost as dry as cornbread and the caramel icing wasn’t the type of caramel I am used to. It was some type of whipped that didn’t taste like caramel at all. $20 bucks in the trash. Very disappointed.

Little out of the way. It's a buy and go place, no inside tables or beverages. Cake slice we got was OK but in our opinion not good enough to buy a whole one. No military or veteran discount.
