Really great food and good family atmosphere. Best greens I’ve ever eaten.
Service was horrible at beat. Only five tables were occupied for the majority of our time there. The waitress at our table had no clue what was as on the menu and then had to get a price once an item was confirmed available. Never checked on is after the food arrived and we had to have another waitress get s to-go boxes and process our check. Food was mediocre. Do not recommend.

We had an amazing experience at The Twisted Turnip! They went above and beyond serving our large group of around 30 people, and everything ran so smoothly. Orders were handled efficiently, food came out hot and delicious, and no one felt overlooked or rushed. The staff was incredibly organized, patient, and friendly the entire time, which made a big group gathering feel easy and enjoyable. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service truly stood out. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to host a large group—highly recommend!

In a 15min notice. They accommodate a party of 50. With most of that party being children. We asked to be in the game room once realized there was one. Without hesitation they set up tables just for us. They began to bring a whole jug of sweet tea, pale of ice, and canned drinks in so we never went without. The owner then come in suggesting to do a catering type off their Sunday menu for us and accommodated for the children and picky eaters. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food. The service was top tier. Although, we could fix our own drinks, still come in checking on us. Set the food out for us to dish our own and supplied everything needed. When needed more of a dish, we got it. We will be back annually for our candyland trip from mobile. Thank you for providing such a great experience for our family and we hope you all have a merry Christmas. ❤️

I STRONGLY recommend this place. They have GREAT food. Wondered service!
We called about 30 minutes before arriving with our very large family (40 people) going to be eating there. The owner stated that they will be ready. And they will do the best they can and still have a restaurant full of other customers.
I want to shout out loud THANK Y’ALL SO MUCH! We had the best time! Best service! And full bellies when we left. This will be our annual family gathering every year before going to Candy Land.

We were in town for the Candy Land, and wanted to try something different while we were out this way. Unfortunately it was a bad decision. They're understaffed, and overwhelmed. I'd usually excuse that, but the food wasn't good either. When 3/4 of the menu is fried, you have to have good clean oil. Everything we got that was fried had that bad over used oil taste to it. The greens were almost inedible. They said they had a weird sweet flavor combined with the taste of battery acid. To top it all off they forgot to bring out 2 of the entrees. I let the server know that we didn't get the food, but we no longer wanted it, because everyone else was ready to go, she said okay. Then proceeded to bring out one of them, and said the other would be out in under a minute. We waited for 10 minutes, and the other one still hadn't come out. Again, nothing against the staff, they seemed nice, but nice only gets you so much.

I ordered the challenge and they didn't produce. They brought all my family's food out and told me they couldn't make it.

Southern food with unique twist. Traditional favorites done differently. The food is good. Fresh from scratch. The service is good. Personable and attentive. The owner even stopped by to chat. Family owned and operated. A 15 minute drive out of town is worth it. It's reasonably priced for the flavor and portion size. It's a laid back atmosphere. Nothing fancy or pretentious.

We stopped in on a Sunday and the place was packed. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed in the quality of the food especially comparing it to another meat and 3 place that we had eaten at the previous Sunday..Given the name of the restaurant, you would think the turnips would have been amazing. They were the most bitter and completely unsalted, unfavored turnips I have ever eaten..The other sides were average at best. The fried chicken lacked any seasoning as well and had been cooked so long that it was very dry. Maybe the food on the regular menu is better but little to no effort to make the food taste decent on the Sunday meat and three.
