Mac's Sports Bar & Steakhouse

This is definitely a sports bar. We went early to avoid any crowds. However, there was only one server/bar tender and she focused on the regulars near the bar. Once she greeted us she was pleasant. Had to ask for our appetizer when the meals were brought. Sandwiches were good, fries were only luke warm. We may go back as prices were great for the food, but will adjust our arrival time and seat selection.

Just got to Athens, this is a hidden gem. Will definitely be back.

A bit boring

Great for groups. Food and Service is exceptional. Best Hamburger Steak in town - just right for lunch.

It's more of a dive bar feel than a pure restaurant. But I love bars and the staff was great to interact with.

This place should stick to just being a bar. That’s all it is. There is no part about this place that is a steakhouse. I had the ribeye very disappointed friend had the pork chops and he was very disappointed. slow service ordered an appetizer It came out one minute before my main course do you wanna drink beer and listen to music? This is probably a decent place but other than that I would seriously pass if you’re looking for any kind of food just go to the Texas roadhouse or somewhere else this was absolutely horrible food how in the world this place has 4.2 stars is beyond me

Mac’s Sports Bar and Steakhouse in Athens might just be my new happy place. Walk in and you’re hit with the smell of sizzling steaks and the sound of people actually enjoying themselves (imagine that!). It’s the kind of spot where you can watch the game, eat like a king, and still feel like you’re hanging out with friends.

The steak? Unreal. I ordered medium rare, and Mac’s delivered it like they had a direct line to my taste buds. Juicy, flavorful, perfectly charred — I half expected Gordon Ramsay to pop out of the kitchen and high-five me. And the sides? Let’s just say the mashed potatoes didn’t make it out alive.

The bar is equally dangerous in the best way. Cold drinks, strong pours, and staff who actually know how to keep your glass full before you even realize it’s empty. The service is so good, I was wondering if my waiter was secretly training for the Olympics in “customer happiness.”

Bottom line: Mac’s isn’t just a restaurant, it’s an Athens experience. If you leave hungry or grumpy, that’s on you. Five stars, two thumbs up, and a round of applause for the steak that made me question every other steak I’ve eaten in my life.
