venue supports dog killer, lying managers who will lie the state of the alabama about their own employees in order to protect themselves. the head manager likes to tell lots of lies to customers and their own employees. if it's to hot and a manager says they will turn it down. Just know she is lying, the owner will never turn it down. also of your waiting a hour for your food, it's actually the manager the fault. happens quite often here.
owner deleting reviews. real classy.
worked here before, you will wait over a hour for your food in busy times and the manager wont do anything for you unless the server specifically asks. for a comp. Tiffany will also lie to customers even when they complain about the temperature. the owner sets the temperature to 74, and no one can turn it down. but tiffaby will lie to customers saying she will. and will ask servers to lie for her.. not only that the kitchen often makes tables out of order. you can have tables get their food, and a older table is still waiting. when a situation like this happens good luck finding a manager like Tiffany to help you. she's off taking her breaks during busy times. also managers never give feedback or actually train people. I've literally had to ask managers for drinks because there were no bartenders and the manager takes so long to make the drink, I'm having customer rushing over to the bar to see what's going on. and get mad at me because a manager refuses to do their job right.
This venue supports a dog trainer that KILLS dogs. Jimmy Lynch is a dangerous individual. Keep Jimmy Lynch away from your pet.
We had a great night. Food was yummy . great beer selection. Ethan too great care of us. He handled a table of 12 as a champ.
Great food, and our server was outstanding ?
Love this place
Came kind of late, but absolutely was still 100% worth it. Athens needed a good place like this!
Mushroom swiss burger was to die for, and the prices aren’t bad compared to their portion sizes. Totally worth the money I spent.
It was such a homey vibe. Not like a crazy sports bar, but it was inviting and the atmosphere is so great.
Triston was an amazing server. He still made us a brownie (although we did come late and they were closing up..) and served it with a warm smile and said, “Made with love by yours truly.”
I will definitely be back!! If you are looking for a great burger/bar , this is it!
This was the first time I have ever been and it was delicious! I was very pleased!
OBB quickly became THE GO-TO PLACE myself and my wife choose when we eat out. I’ve tried my best to try something new each time we visit (though it is SO HARD to not eat the biscuits and gravy every time we visit for brunch!) and have yet to find anything less-than delicious, and the service has been impeccable every single visit. Easily a “Must-Try” not just for Athens but for all of North Alabama! (Photos are from multiple visits)

Would give it 6 stars if it'd let me! Food is always amazing and fresh, always fast and friendly staff especially Triston, super helpful deciding on food and beer. Will definitely return again and again ?
Excellent! The food was amazing. Great drinks, wonderful service by Laura.
The burgers at Old Black Bear are incredible! The burger I got even had fried green tomatoes on it! The only thing stopping it from being 5 stars is the price being steep for burgers. If the price on burgers was lower, I would make this one of one my most frequent restaurant choices.
We enjoyed a late dinner at Old Black Bear Brewing Athens. The atmosphere was great. The restaurant is very clean. Our server was Laura and she was excellent, and very attentive! The food was delicious.
We will be returning for another great experience at Old Black Bear Brewing.
Visited this spot on a weekend and had an amazing time. The place was lively, with a full bar and nearly all the tables occupied. My group was seated at a perfect spot where we had a great view of the TVs. The staff was accommodating when we requested to sit closer to the screens. What a great experience!
