This venue supports a dog trainer that KILLS dogs. Jimmy Lynch is a dangerous individual. Keep Jimmy Lynch away from your pet.

We had a great night. Food was yummy . great beer selection. Ethan too great care of us. He handled a table of 12 as a champ.

Came kind of late, but absolutely was still 100% worth it. Athens needed a good place like this!
Mushroom swiss burger was to die for, and the prices aren’t bad compared to their portion sizes. Totally worth the money I spent.
It was such a homey vibe. Not like a crazy sports bar, but it was inviting and the atmosphere is so great.
Triston was an amazing server. He still made us a brownie (although we did come late and they were closing up..) and served it with a warm smile and said, “Made with love by yours truly.”

I will definitely be back!! If you are looking for a great burger/bar , this is it!

This was the first time I have ever been and it was delicious! I was very pleased!

OBB quickly became THE GO-TO PLACE myself and my wife choose when we eat out. I’ve tried my best to try something new each time we visit (though it is SO HARD to not eat the biscuits and gravy every time we visit for brunch!) and have yet to find anything less-than delicious, and the service has been impeccable every single visit. Easily a “Must-Try” not just for Athens but for all of North Alabama! (Photos are from multiple visits)

Would give it 6 stars if it'd let me! Food is always amazing and fresh, always fast and friendly staff especially Triston, super helpful deciding on food and beer. Will definitely return again and again ?

The burgers at Old Black Bear are incredible! The burger I got even had fried green tomatoes on it! The only thing stopping it from being 5 stars is the price being steep for burgers. If the price on burgers was lower, I would make this one of one my most frequent restaurant choices.

We enjoyed a late dinner at Old Black Bear Brewing Athens. The atmosphere was great. The restaurant is very clean. Our server was Laura and she was excellent, and very attentive! The food was delicious.
We will be returning for another great experience at Old Black Bear Brewing.

Visited this spot on a weekend and had an amazing time. The place was lively, with a full bar and nearly all the tables occupied. My group was seated at a perfect spot where we had a great view of the TVs. The staff was accommodating when we requested to sit closer to the screens. What a great experience!

Hard to recommend a place with so many problems and an owner who condescendingly blames their customers for all of their mistakes and problems.

They put someone else's meal on our ticket and tried to charge us $102 instead of the $80 it should have been. We keep tallies when we eat. She didn't even show us the receipt. She just came over and handed us the machine. I get it's a bar place and you expect your patrons to be drunk, but trying to rip people off doesn't work. It took over an hour to get our food and it wasn't busy in there. Our wings were ice cold too. My mother's chicken fajita had very little chicken and was mostly CHUNKS of onion. And she loves onion, but they essentially cut up an onion and then laid it on there. The mushroom Swiss burger was slathered in caramelized onions, with little mushrooms. We will not be coming back. Sorry bar peeps, this place ain't for this girly. I don't know their alcohol prices, just make sure to double and triple check what they're charging you.
