Really good pizza, wings, sandwiches, and beer. It's not New York style pizza, but not all of them have to be. The cheese sticks are basically a cheese pizza without pizza sauce (they are delicious), the fire and ice wings are phenomenal, and the Benny is our favorite pizza. Great location, too. All around a great pizza joint.

I thought the pizza was good. Doughy like I like. A little heavy with the tomato sauce. My Italian friend wasn't too crazy about it. Expensive. Four people cost $80.00.

Great pizza with both tradition and gourmet choices. Love the thin crust and the service. Best pizza in town!

Second time visiting. But this visit was not so good during the day. I think the better pizza maker works after 5pm

Reasonably nice place to be if you don't mind a lot of noise. The pizza itself is mediocre. Wouldn't say it's bad or that anything specifically was wrong, just didn't care for it.

Ah, Village Pizza in Athens, Alabama—where time slows, thickens, coils into the dough and drips from the cheese like memory from a Southern summer dusk, like molasses from an old man’s tongue telling stories nobody asked for but everybody needed. The red neon sign hums its gospel into the night, casting long shadows of trucks parked crooked, haphazard, reverent—like worshippers drawn not by hymn, but by scent. Smoke and spice and the holy perfume of fire-kissed pepperoni.

You don’t just eat pizza here, no. You reckon with it. You fold that slice like a letter home, edges curled with blistered crust and sauce that bites like a July sun. The cheese—a theological debate in itself—stretches eternal, a bridge between generations, between bites, between what your daddy said was good pizza and what your mama called a sin.

And the people—God help us, the people—calling each other by first name, asking after babies and football and funerals and that thing down at the plant. They hand you sweet tea like a benediction. They do not rush. They do not falter. They carry trays of calzones and baked spaghetti like sacred relics, because here food is not sustenance, it is communion.

So yes, Village Pizza is more than a place. It is a living, sweating, glorious monument to the way things ought to be. To grease on your fingers and stories in your mouth. To the unspoken understanding that if you’re lucky enough to get a booth on a Friday night, you sit a little longer. You remember who you are.

And maybe, for a while, you forget the rest.

Traveling and staying in town for the night. We ordered pizza, bread sticks and meatballs. Everything was great. The meatballs were amazing. The bread sticks were very good. The pizza was extremely good. Would recommend going there!

We found this place a few weeks ago, and wanted to try them again. We had a great service last time, this time not so much. Took forever to get drinks. She forgot stuff. Then we forgot our server last time asked us how we wanted our crust, not seeing it, we forgot. Our server today, didn't ask. So the pizza was not nearly as good. Tasted like its made on pre made dough. If we come back we will have to remember, table only, and thin crust pizza only......
