Workers at Village gave police a false accusation that I abused my child inside their restaurant.
I was here earlier this evening (12/22) with my two oldest daughters (12 and 17) having a pizza. My 12-year old was having a temper tantrum over her little sister logging into her Roblox account and spending all of her Robux.. It made her so upset that she demanded that I stop eating and reimburse her immediately. After I told her no, and that I would reimburse her after we ate, she hit the table with her fist and caused a scene in the restaurant. This prompted me to sternly tell her to calm her ass down or I'd take her phone. She got up and went to the restroom upset. She came out and refused to eat. I paid my bill and we left.
Little did I know that a worker(s) at Village followed us to my car to write down my license plate number, then notified the police that I hit the table and slapped my child in the face.
This false allegation lead to Athens police at my door a couple hours later after we returned home from shopping. Instead of doing real police work and pulling camera footage from inside the restaurant, the police proceeded to harass me at my home under the false accusation that I struck my child in the face.
Either the police lied about witness saying I slapped my child or the witness lied about seeing me slap my child. Luckily, I have the entire interaction with the police on my doorbell camera, where the officer started off telling me that "he (a worker)witnessed me slapping my child", then later contradicts himself by saying "he (the witness) was NOT 100% certain he saw me slap my child". But both things can't be true. Either he reported I hit her or not. Seems I caught someone in a lie.
Either way, a false report was given and police resources were wasted, which put me outside my home in the cold dispelling the false allegation. Both my daughters collaborated that I never slapped her. And the police left in shame.
This should never happen to any parent at any business. If you don't know for certain of abuse, don't report it to the police. My daughter was recently in a car accident which left lacerations above her eye, which aren't fully healed. But you assumed that I hit her in the face! You mislead the police, which then harassed me at my home! Even wanted me reported to DHR with your false accusations. You should be fired!
The Village manager and/or employees responsible for this owes me and my family an apology. And until I get one, I will be sharing this story to every friend and coworker I know. I will also be looking into what can be done legally. I know it's against the law to make a false police report.

Boneless wings burned on one side, sauce on this was cold. Celery with this was brown. Pizza not cut well and tough had to practically pull it apart. Burnt crust. Very slow service. Overpriced. Not impressed.
Always good food and service. Sometimes a little slow but all in all a great experience

Can’t believe I’m giving this location a low rating. I must say that it reflects ONLY on my experience last night. We live in East Limestone, but purposefully travel to the Athens location because of their usual delicious consistency. First, I could not get anyone on the phone, therefore I was forced to order online. I picked it up and took it home. The pizza was uncharacteristically dry and bland…and the toppings were sparse. It lacked sauce and flavor. Without mentioning this to my husband, he ate it, and then asked where I got it from. He suggested we let them know. I called to speak with a manager, and Ashley accepted that role. She confirmed my order, and then there was an awkward silence…and what I guess was an apology. Not even a promise of better service in the future…..#Disappointed

Our server was MIA the whole time. One waitress covered the whole room. They need music or TV sound. The pizza was on par with Walymart deli

Food and service were very good. Our waitress was great and had an awesome personality. The cheese sticks were good. I do wish they had a bit more of a garlic/salt taste to them, but that’s just my preference. The wait time for the amount of food we ordered wasn’t bad at all. All in all I would return if I’m in the area.

We had heard several times when we moved to the Athens area. This was the best pizza in town, and we know right away when we tried it that they were not wrong.
Atmosphere in the restaurant is very lively and friendly, the service was amazing and they remembered everything we asked for !
We got a large pizza, salad, and cheese sticks to go!
Pizza was just the right amount of sauce and thin crust by request. Salad was fresh and big enough to feed two people. Breadsticks were buttery and cheesy, just the way we like them!
Definitely go to spot when we have friends in town or want a fun night out!
