The food at Mikata was excellent and our cook was funny, engaging, and made the experience enjoyable. Unfortunately, the service from our waitress brought the visit down. She was inattentive throughout the meal and became almost rude at the end when she made an error on our bill. She also forgot to put in our to go sushi order, leaving us waiting about 20 minutes after we had already paid. There was no apology for any of the mistakes. I love eating here! Luke is the best! Ask for him. The food is good and the service is great.

Overall, not a bad experience, but also not great. If you are gluten free, you either need to bring your own sauce for your food or just eat white rice and some plain veggies and meat. The restaurant makes all their own sauces and soups, which is very cool, but there is soy sauce in EVERY sauce, salad dressing, and soup. So I probably won’t eat here again because menu options are so limited for gluten free. They also cooked my food not on the hibachi grill (which is fine because...
