Food was ok but this restaurant is expensive with the slow and bad service and portions. Be careful with their bills!! They modify your tips after you left, thinking you won’t check back on credit cards anyways. We were total of 3 people and thankfully we took pictures of our bills! Don’t appreciate the dishonesty. It happened to us twice, first one we thought it was innocent mistake but turned out they do do that.

Very authentic cuisine. The sushi is amazing! The Bulgogi came out sizzling, it was so delicious! My son had the teriyaki chicken it was very good. My husband had the chicken Pad Thai, it was very good. Service was fast even though they were a little short staffed. A good amount of food for the price.

As a long time Michelin chef, coming to Auburn was a change of pace for my meals because the food here has been extremely hit or miss. However this Ramen is the best in Auburn, hands down, without a doubt. The sushi was outstanding as well but the ramen was the star of the show. I’m not sure why places here can’t quite nail a good bowl of ramen but Umami has done it and done it well.

If the service isn’t great then your tip will reflect on that. The Hispanic lady was the only server on the floor. She had 4 tables in total when I was dining in. I was evaluating how she was towards everyone and did not get a good vibe from her the get. She was very nice, smiling, having small talk, and laughing with the other customers and I am a person of color so I noted that down. Never once did she have that kind of interaction with my table. Auburn has become so hostile towards people of color now.
The Korean bugolgi was 10/10!! Fresh hot & so delicious! This is a nice mom & pop authentic Korean restaurant.

If you're in Auburn area do not come here. my husband and I ordered their special Umi special red soup. It tastes horrible and when we say it tastes horrible it's really horrible and when we don't wanna pay it, they said you still need to pay, the waiters is so rude and after that I said, then, maybe you can give me white one instead of red one. They still don't wanna change it and also they have gnats everywhere in the restaurant do not come here you just spend your money. We spend $100 for noting. I am Indonesian and their Indonesian chicken sambal its not original sambal.Trust me this restaurant make our Indonesian food taste bad and people will think originally sambal taste like that. If you ever travel to Indonesia especially Java and Bali you'll know it.

Absolutely ridiculous that we had to automatically pay for tip because it was a special deal day. Like if you can’t afford to do special deals then don’t, why rip off guests?! It makes sense for large parties to be charged gratuity and many restaurants do that but we were a party of 3. We got no service and our water cup was completely empty and they want a tip?!! Also, the last time we were there they chased us down for a bigger tip. Talk about insanity!! The food here is decent so decided to come back again but the hunger for extra money is disgusting!
