The food wasn't prepared well for the prices charged. I had a steak which wasn't bad, so I enjoyed it. However, my partner's risotto was just edible; it wasn't creamy as risotto is meant to be. If the cost of the food was one-third of the amount charged, I wouldn't be complaining at all. They charged prices you'd expect at Helen, Cafe du Pont, or Hot and Hot for food you'd expect from Chili's.
Since the restaurant is downtown with very tall windows and is situated by the door it is extremely hot. The air conditioning does not work. There are gnats. I will not eat there on the summer months because I do not like eating hot food in the summer
Only two people were working there. No one even acknowledged that we had made a reservation. It always took more than one attempt to get a server's attention. The coffee mugs on our table were dirty. There were dirty wine glasses out from the night before. We will not be coming back.
Unfortunately, we did not eat there. We arrived at 9:25 for our 9:30 reservation to find a long line of people with similar reservation times waiting to be seated with no hostess in site, no wait staff checking and one who actually laughed at us when she asked if we were all waiting for breakfast. We left, headed to the grocery store and fixed Mother's Day brunch at home. Not sure what was going on at this Hilton Curio hotel with no one at the front desk either.
Bathrooms were really smelly. Flies were everywhere around my table. Service was OK. As was food. Glassware was smudgy. Hair in my foodI was just expecting a bit of a higher quality
The beef fillet was excellent, as well as the sweet potatoes and asparagus and collard greens. I would not recommend the pork chop as it was kind of plain. we were disappointed that they had a problem with their licensing and couldn't serve any alcohol except for wine. Also, we really wanted the lamb as a starter, but they were out of lamb.
It was just us and one other table,(st. Patty's day weekend). Food was great, our server was wonderful, the food and drinks did take awhile considering we were the only folks in there but overall, great experience. We got the short rib, filet, and bison carpaccio and all were fantastic!
They were understaffed and while my salmon was good the rest of our party ordered steak that looked about like something you could get at Applebees. Our dessert was so long getting to the table and we had an event to attend that we gave it away to guests at another table. Would never go back.
Do not recommend. We went for brunch and they didn't bother to staff a bartender for brunch drinks. Food ranged from bad to okay. We were one of two tables and still our bad food took forever. Service was okay. Take your money and time and eat somewhere else.
Beautiful restaurant with delicious food and excellent service. The prices are more than reasonable for the quality of the food, and our server Alex was wonderful. Chicken breast, caesar salad, and chocolate torte were all delicious! They were extremely patient with our being late to our reservation. Will definitely dine here again!

One person working the tables and hostess stand. Bar tender was also overwhelmed. Drinks took 45 minutes and were bad. Server/hostess worked her tail off but can't do it all alone.
We had the best dinner we have had in years! From the vibes, to the outstanding food, and immaculate service hands down #1 place to eat in Birmingham. We will be back! Our server went above and beyond for us. They were out of olive juice for martinis and they went and got some olive juice from their sister restaurant. 10/10!
We needed a place to eat Sunday evening dinner in downtown Birmingham and found this place in the Redmont Hotel. Nice setting on the ground floor of the historic hotel. Food was pretty good - a nicely prepared tenderloin on a bed of collard greens with a layered potato side and a Caesar salad that used entire romaine leaves. But not great food - salad had a bit of brown and the potatoes with the steak were a bit overcooked. Service was pretty good - got a bit slow with apparently just one server on duty, but she did her best.
Breakfast is not as advertised on the Redmont website. There’s only a small Starbucks serving pastries and yogurt parfait. What good is a $15 food credit if there aren’t more choices than that? We wanted healthy protein, produce and juice options.
We stayed at The Redmont hotel for a single night for Valentine's Day and wanted a restaurant that was close in proximity. Luckily The Harvest is inside the hotel, so it was extremely convenient. The food was delicious and the feel of the restaurant was warm and inviting. We will definitely visit The Harvest and The Redmont again!
